6. Assessment of the water storage potential at Lake Mjölhatteträsk on Storsudret, Gotland
Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknikSammanfattning : During the recent summers, Gotland has suffered from drinking water shortage and due to the climate change, the water shortage can possible increase in the future. To find a solution, the Swedish Environmental Research Institute IVL and Region Gotland are going to build a testbed at Storsudret located on the south of Gotland, to investigate different sustainable solutions. 7. Hydrologic modelling of the Zackenberg river basin : an applied study using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Since the 1980s, the Arctic has experienced an amplified warming of more than twice the rate of the global-mean, leading to large-scale changes in the Arctic hydrologic system, ultimately having cascading feedbacks on the global climate. However, few of today’s distributed models manage to capture the complex processes in Arctic hydrology, and therefore, the aim of this thesis was to evaluate the usage of the distributed Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, to see whether it could capture the different surface water paths and processes characterizing the Arctic water cycle. 8. Effects of altered precipitation regimes on bryophyte carbon dynamics in a Peruvian tropical montane cloud forest
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Tropical montane cloud forests (TMCF) are unique ecosystems that are frequently surrounded by clouds which increase humidity and promote the growth of bryophytes. Several dimensions of humidity are important for the carbon dynamics of bryophytes. Climate change is therefore projected to have a large impact on them as well as on the TMCF itself. LÄS MER
9. Flood Visualization for Urban Planning : An exploratory spatiotemporal visualization of storm water runoff in 2D and 3D
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Gävle/Avdelningen för Industriell utveckling, IT och SamhällsbyggnadSammanfattning : Modelling hydrologic processes is important for understanding how the water cycle works in different environments. Cities which undergo constant changes are subject to flood hazards resulting from severe rainfall. LÄS MER
10. Integrated hydrologic flow characterization of the Krycklan catchment (Sweden).
Master-uppsats, KTH/Mark- och vattenteknikSammanfattning : Currently there are urgent water related problems, such as use of groundwater and surface water resources, which need a more integrated view on the hydraulic cycle and how the different processes interact with each other. This has led to new ways of thinking in management of watersheds, which sparked the creation of new integrated tools for flow characterization. LÄS MER
