  1. 1. Assessing evolution of ice caps in Suðurland, Iceland, in years 1986 - 2014, using multispectral satellite imagery

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Alicja Miodonska; [2019]
    Nyckelord :remote sensing; multispectral satellite imagery; Landsat; Iceland; glaciers; ice caps; Geography; GIS; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The study focuses on the application of multispectral satellite imageries in glaciological studies. It aims to assess how the Icelandic glaciers have evolved over the last decades (from the 1980s to 2014). The study area covers Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull ice caps located in Suðurland, Iceland. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Differential Interferometry and Multiple-Aperture Interferometry for Retrieving Three-Dimensional Measurements of Glacial Surface Velocity

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Luke Webber; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Differential Interferometry; Multiple-Aperture Interferometry; 3D; Glacial Surface Velocity;

    Sammanfattning : The measurement and monitoring of glacial surface velocity is important for many aspects of glaciology, such as determining the mass balance, for characterising the stability or instability of glaciers, or the identification of potential hazards from surging glaciers or Jökulhlaups, a type of glacial outburst flood. Predominately measurements of glacial surface velocity have been produced using either differential interferometry (DInSAR) applied to radar data, or offset-tracking applied to either optical or radar data. 3. 3. Changes in Surface Mass Balance on the Devon Ice Cap in the Canadian Arctic

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Linnéa Midefelt; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Surface mass balance; Devon Ice Cap; Canadian Arctic; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is an ongoing process that contributes to changes in the climate on a global scale down to a local scale. The Arctic sea ice and the glaciers have continued to decrease at the same time as the rate of sea level rise has increased. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Vart bör Kiribati, Tuvalu och Marshallöarnas befolkningar ta vägen? : En normativ analys inom ämnet för klimatförändringarnas utmaningar

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för statsvetenskap (ST)

    Författare :Pontus Wallin; [2015]
    Nyckelord :klimatförändring; stigande havsvattennivåer; Kiribati; Tuvalu; Marshallöarna; klimatflyktingar; normativ metod; Edward A. Page;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of anthropogenic climate change are becoming more and more visible as being highlighted by scientists, politicians and media. The causes of droughts, floods, melting ice caps and rising sea levels can all partially be traced back to human activities. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Removal efficiency of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in drinking water : evaluation of granular activated carbon (GAC) and anion exchange (AE) using column tests, and the effect of dissolved organic carbon

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Författare :Anna Östlund; [2015]
    Nyckelord :PFASs; perfluoroalkyl substances; removal efficiency; granular activated carbon; GAC; anion exchange; AE; dissolved organic carbon; DOC;

    Sammanfattning : Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a group of environmental contaminants that have gained increasing attention due to their potential to bioaccumulate, environmental persistence and potential toxicity. PFASs have been found in surface water, sediment, air, soil, sludge and ice caps globally, as well as in wildlife and humans. LÄS MER
