  1. 1. INDIVIDUAL TRAIT MATCHING OF BUMBLEBEES (BOMBUS) AND FLOWERS ALONG AN ENVIRONMENTAL GRADIENT

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Johan Per Michael Svedin; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Arctic climate change; Bombus; Flower morphology; Plant-pollinator trait-matching;

    Sammanfattning : Insect pollinators serve a critical role in maintaining plant biodiversity and are especially susceptible to changes within their environment. To study the possible effects of seasonal variation in temperature, as well as climatic temperature increase on the plant-pollinator community, the relationship between bumblebee and flowering plant traits along an elevational gradient, representing warming-induced changes in plant community, were examined. 3. 3. Characterizaion of the mechanism underlying auxin-induced seed arrest in Arabidopsis thaliana

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Plant Biology

    Författare :Sowmiya Devi Venkatesan; [2020]
    Nyckelord :endosperm; hybridization barriers; triploid block; auxins; RNA Polymerase IV; RNA silencing;

    Sammanfattning : In flowering plants, seeds are produced as a result of double fertilization, whereby the haploid egg cell and the diploid central cell fuse with one of the two haploid sperm cells giving rise to a diploid embryo and a triploid endosperm, respectively. The endosperm serves as the major nutrient source for the developing embryo yet the molecular mechanisms pertaining to its development are not fully understood. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Plant phenology and climate change : possible effect on the onset of various wild plant species first flowering day in the UK

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Nigel Fox; [2019]
    Nyckelord :geography; GIS; plants; phenology; climate change; global warming; FFD; IPCC; Bluebell; Garlic mustard; Coltsfoot; Cuckooflower; United Kingdom; Woodland Trust; UK; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The IPCC states that the planet is significantly warming due to effects of climate change. This warming effect has consequences for phenological events. Many species cannot track rapid climate change, resulting in phenological mismatches. This study looks at an extreme weather event and the longer-term effects of climate change. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ljusets betydelse för rotknoppars groningsvillighet i åkermolke (Sonchus arvensis L.)

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Crop Production Ecology

    Författare :Magnus Åhman; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Åkermolke; Sonchus arvensis; rotknoppar; vegetativ förökning; vegetativ reproduktion; fotoperiodism; fotoperiod; ljusintensitet; ljuskvalitet;

    Sammanfattning : This study is about how changed light conditions induce dormancy in plants. It is divided in two parts. First a literature study where quantification of light, the concept dormancy, photoperiod and light quality are discussed. LÄS MER
