  1. 1. The Neural Correlates of Sensory Processing Sensitivity : a Systematic Review

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Carolina Rundcrantz Zubcevic; [2023]
    Nyckelord :sensory processing sensitivity; highly sensitive person; personality trait; fMRI;

    Sammanfattning : Sensory processing sensitivity is an innate temperament trait characterized by deeper cognitive processing of stimuli, increased empathy and emotionality, ease of overstimulation, and heightened awareness of subtileties in the environment. This systematic review aims to review the literature that has investigated the neural correlates of sensory processing sensitivity. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Neurala Korrelatet för Empati för Smärta : En Systematisk Analys

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Sladjana Radonjic; [2023]
    Nyckelord :empati; empati för smärta; smärta; fMRI; somatosensoriska områden;

    Sammanfattning : Det finns många studier som kollar på likheter i de neurala korrelaten i empati för smärta, medan det finns få studier som kollar på skillnaderna i hjärnresponserna. Detta arbete har som fokus att titta på skillnader i neurala korrelaten i empati för smärta inom självupplevd smärta kontra (empatiskt) observerad smärta hos andra individer. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Gray matter alterations in individuals with PTSD compared to controls : A systematic review

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Saga Sandkvist Studsare; Arash Arvidsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Post-traumatic stress disorder; PTSD; Voxel-Based Morphometry; gray matter;

    Sammanfattning : This systematic review aims to investigate the alterations in gray matter volume (GMV) observed in the brains of individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through the Clinical Administered PTSD scale (CAPS) using Voxel-Based Morphometry (VBM) as a method. PTSD is diagnosed when an individual meets all the criteria for PTSD as defined by the DSM, which includes having experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, experiencing intrusive symptoms such as flashbacks or nightmares, avoiding triggers related to the trauma, experiencing negative changes in mood and cognition, and experiencing changes in arousal and reactivity. 4. 4. The Neural Correlates of Emotional Intelligence : A Systematic Review

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Anne Agnvall; Reza Unessi; [2023]
    Nyckelord :emotional intelligence; ability emotional intelligence; strategic emotional intelligence; experiential emotional intelligence; MSCEIT;

    Sammanfattning : Emotional intelligence (EI) lies at the intersection of emotion and cognition and is seen as beneficial to our relationships and well-being. Yet, there is a gap in knowledge regarding the neural correlates of EI. There are three prevailing models defining the psychological construct of EI, the trait model, the ability model, and the mixed model. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mind, body, and choice: A review of alexithymia and the somatic-marker hypothesis

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Författare :Henrik Snellman; [2022]
    Nyckelord :alexithymia; somatic marker hypothesis; neuroimaging;

    Sammanfattning : This paper examined the claims postulated by the somatic marker hypothesis and compares those claims to the current evidence surrounding the neural basis of alexithymia. The results were then compared to see if they contradict or have a distinct localisation in the brain separate from those behavioural brain regions hypothesized by the somatic marker hypothesis.
