  1. 1. Polymerized Tubular Silicates in Lower Cambrian Carbonates – Biology or Chemistry?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Scott Green; [2022]
    Nyckelord :biosignature; tubular structures; Lower Cambrian; silica precipitation; bifurcating; biosignatur; rörstrukturer; Kambrium Serie 3; kiseldioxid utfällning; förgrening;

    Sammanfattning : Shallow marine environments from the Lower Cambrian period were very different to shallow marine environments of today. Tubes of what was thought to be silica recovered from a partly dolomitized carbonate sample collected form a site near Indian Springs, Nevada could help further understand the chemistry and characteristics of such environments. 2. 2. Estimating the Early Evolution of Brachiopods Using an Integrated Approach Combining Genomics and Fossils

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Paleobiologi

    Författare :Chloé Robert; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Brachiopoda; evolutionary history; phylogeny; Maximum likelihood; Bayesian inference; fossil calibrations; Brachiopoda; evolutionhistoria; fylogeni; Maximum likelihood-metoden; Bayesiansk statistik; fossilkalibering;

    Sammanfattning : The Brachiopoda, a major group of the Lophotrochozoa, experienced a rapid early evolutionary diversification during the well-known Cambrian explosion and subsequently dominated the Palaeozoic benthos with its diversity and abundance. Even though the phylogeny of the Lophotrochozoa is still hotly debated, it is now known that the Brachiopoda are a monophyletic grouping. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Distribution of Sabellidites (Annelida?) in the Basal Cambrian of the Digermulen Peninsula, Arctic Norway

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Frida Hybertsen; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Ediacaran; Cambrian; Sabellidites; biostratigraphy; Digermulen Peninsula; Arctic Norway; Ediacara; kambrium; Sabellidites; biostratigrafi; Digermulen;

    Sammanfattning : The Digermulen Peninsula, Arctic Norway, offers a unique section of late Ediacaran to Cambrian sediments in an almost complete succession within the Vestertana Group. The proposed annelidan fossil Sabellidites cambriensis is found here, within the Lower Breidvika Member and is believed to exist also in the underlying Manndrapselva Member of the Stáhpogieddi Formation. 4. 4. Paleontology and Sedimentology of the Alum Shale Formation at Björnberget, Västerbotten County, Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Mannelqvist Alexander; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Brachiopoda; Acrotretida; New species; New locality; Alum Shale Formation; Brachiopoda; Acrotretida; ny art; ny lokal; Alunskifferformationen;

    Sammanfattning : A new locality of the Alum Shale Formation at Björnberget, Västerbotten County, of the lower allochthon of the Caledonian front is described herein. Two new species of acrotretid brachiopods were found. Tingitanella vilhelminia n. sp. LÄS MER

  5. 5. De mellankambriska oelandicuslagren på Öland : stratigrafi och faciestyper

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Johan Malmgren; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Öland; Sverige; kambrium; trilobiter; Acadoparadoxides oelandicus; Ellipsocephalus polytomus; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with a drill core retrieved from northern Öland, Sweden, in 2010. The length of the core is c. 107 m and comprises an Ordovician and Cambrian succession. The middle Cambrian primarily consists of fossiliferous mudstone with thin siltstone beds. LÄS MER
