  1. 1. Simulation and Experimental Based Hardenability Evaluation of Chromium Alloyed Powder Metal Steels

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Atharva Kotasthane; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hardenability; Martensite; Simulation Modelling; Microhardness; Microstructure; Härdbarhet; Martensit; Simuleringsmodellering; Mikrohårdhet; Mikrostruktur;

    Sammanfattning : Powder metallurgy is a branch of metal forming technology where metal powders are used to manufacture parts and components. It is a flexible and economical technique for manufacturing complicated shapes. This present work focuses on press and sinter technology and forms a part of Höganäs’s efforts of modelling hardenability through quenching. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Combining GHG Emissions and Soil Carbon Changes as a Single Metric to Evaluate Agricultural Policy Promoting Biomass for Biofuels

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning; Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)

    Författare :Malin Lane; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Gräsvallar; klimatpåverkan; kolinlagring; jordbruk; biomassa; biobränslen.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Incorporating a multi-year grass ley into an arable crop rotation can increase soil organic carbon stocks, reduce carbon emissions and provide feedstock for biogas. This thesis set out to study how a policy promoting agricultural biomass for biogas impacts GHG emissions and carbon sequestration on a regional level over a temporal scale of 20 years. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mikroplast i vattenavsatta sediment

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Björn Lycke; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Andong salt marsh; microplastics; MPs; trends; United Kingdom; Arctic; Tisza; Thames; Elbe; India; primary microplastics; secondary microplastics; PAH; polychlorinated biphenyls; toxic; poison; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Microplastics (MPs) are a major pollution concern since the start of the mass produc-tion of plastics in the 1950s. MPs form A) when plastics are produced intentionally to be part of beauty products and B) when plastics are broken down into smaller particles by sunlight, wind, and rain. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cradle-to-Gate LCA of Water Treatment Alternatives : A case study performed for Norrvatten’s future waterwork expansion

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Siddharth Selvarajan; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Life cycle assessment; Water purification method; Potable water production; Microbiological barrier; Activated carbon; Sludge separation; Livscykelbedömning; Vattenreningsmetod; Produktion av dricksvatten; Mikrobiologisk barriär; Aktivt kol; Slamavskiljnin;

    Sammanfattning : Norrvatten is a municipal association which owns a water treatment plant capable of supplying good quality drinking water to the consumers in the associated neighbouring municipalities. After preliminary investigations for the future year of 2050, there were estimates which suggest a potential water quality degradation in the lake which supplies the raw water for treatment due to uncertain future climatic conditions and other forms of pollutions from the surrounding. 5. 5. The potential for Binding PFAS Using Biochar and Phytoremediation

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Josefin Alice Maria Svensson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Physical geography; ecosystem analysis; PFAS; Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances; remediation; phytoremediation; biochar; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : PFAS is a group of long-lasting chemicals with multiple known toxicological effects which has been found everywhere in nature. One of the possible source points of PFAS is via landfill through leachate leaving the area. It is therefore important to investigate and implementing remediation techniques to reduce the contamination risk. LÄS MER
