    Sammanfattning : In this work an epitaxial layer of Indium Phosphide (InP) has been grown on top of a silicon substrate using the Corrugated Epitaxial Lateral Overgrowth (CELOG) technique. The grown InP CELOG top layer typically has a poor surface roughness and planarity. Before this surface can be used for any processing it has to be smooth and planarized. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The spectrum of a linear, constant coefficient operator $A$ can help us characterize the system $\dot{x}=Ax$ satisfactorily, but in the case of a nonlinear dynamical system such methods are not suitable. In this thesis we discuss the insufficiency of only studying the eigenvalues along the Jacobian of the solution trajectory and discuss possible indicators to better characterize such systems.
