1. Probabilistic Exact Inversion of 2-qubit Bipartite Unitary Operations using Local Operations and Classical Communication
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : A distributed quantum computer holds the potential to emulate a larger quantumcomputer by being partitioned it into smaller modules where local operations (LO)can be applied, and classical communication (CC) can be utilized between thesemodules. Finding algorithms under LOCC restrictions is crucial for leveraging thecapabilities of distributed quantum computing, This thesis explores probabilisticexact LOCC supermaps, that maps 2-qubit bipartite unitary operations to its inver-sion and complex conjugation. 2. Creating Artificial Quantum Chiral States : Time Evolving Open Spin Chains
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/MaterialteoriSammanfattning : The discoveries in applications of chirality in various areas of science seem to never cease to emerge. Chirality, being the property that some objects are geometrically distinguishable from their mirror image, is a tiny difference of vast importance. LÄS MER
3. Hybrid Microwave Resonator-Nanoscale Conductor Systems
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Entanglement is a fundamental aspect of quantum computation and quantum information processes. In this work, we analyse the entanglement of two microwave resonators when connected to a semiconductor double quantum dot. LÄS MER
4. Gravitational Decoherence in Macroscopic Quantum Systems
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysikSammanfattning : The problem of how quantum mechanics gives rise to classicality has been debated for more than a century. A commonly proposed solution is decoherence, i.e. the gradual decay of superpositions in open quantum systems due to their inevitable interaction with their environment. LÄS MER
5. Tsirelson's Bound : Introduction and Examples
Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)Sammanfattning : Tsirelson's bound is the upper bound for a Bell inequality which is valid for all quantum mechanical systems. We discuss why Tsirelson's bound was developed by looking at some historical arguments in quantum physics, such as the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox, an argument for the quantum mechanical description of physical reality being incomplete, and local hidden variables.
