  1. 1. Automatic monitoring and control of Laser Metal Deposition Process

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Högskolan Väst/Avdelningen för Industriell ekonomi, Elektro- och Maskinteknik

    Författare :David Byseke; Alexander Thunell; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Laser metal deposition; LMD; automatic control;

    Sammanfattning : Laser metal deposition is an additive manufacturing technique that enables the manufacturing or repair of high-quality metal parts by building fine layers one at a time. To get a stable process with a low number of flaws and irregularities the process needs a fully operational and functioning control system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Process Mapping for Laser Metal Deposition of Wire using Thermal Simulations : A prediction of material transfer stability

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :David Lindell; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Additive manufacturing; direct energy deposition; laser metal deposition; thermal simulation; processing window; material transfer stability; stubbing; dripping; Additiv tillverkning; lasermetalldeponering; termisk simulering; processfönster;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) is a quickly rising method of manufacturing due to its ability to increase design freedom. This allows the manufacturing of components not possible by traditional subtractive manufacturing. AM can greatly reduce lead time and material waste, therefore decreasing the cost and environmental impact. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Understanding Effects of Isothermal Heat Treatments on Microstructure of LMD-w Titanium Alloy (Ti-6242) : On solution heat treated microstructure

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Noomi Linder; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Heat Treatments Isothermal Titanium Alloy Ti-6242 Ti6242 Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo GKN;

    Sammanfattning : The use and knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies are rapidly growing. It is crucial to understand the processing-structure-property relationship, which is highly discussed when trying to understand the science of a material. One commonly used material in aerospace applications is titanium alloy, lately Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (Ti-6242). LÄS MER

  4. 4. The effect of printing parameters on the deformation and microstructure of Inconel 718 : A study in pulsed laser and powder based directed energy deposition additive manufacturing

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Elias Repper; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Laser; Additive Manufacturing; Metal; Deposition; Quasi-continuous-wave; Pulsed; Ni-base superalloy; Laves; Deformation; Residual stresses;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing has the power to redefine how we create components. In order to minimize removal of printed material, deformation must be kept a minimum. When deposition rate is increased during directed energy deposition so is the power requirement for melting the feedstock. LÄS MER

  5. 5. CFD Simulation of Fluid Flow During Laser Metal Wire Deposition using OpenFOAM : 3D printing

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Jennifer Lundkvist; [2019]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this work was to simulate the fluid flow within a melt pool geometry, during an additive manufacturing process, implementing the CFD software OpenFOAM version 1806. Two separate models were created and run during this work, the first using a temperature mapping from a finite element (FE) model and the second being a free-standing model with Gaussian distributed laser beam striking down on the top surface.
