    Sammanfattning : The aim of this project was to assess, using in-silico experiments, how different life history char-acteristics, such as age at maturity and dispersal ability of individuals, influence the dynamics of a metapopulation. To achieve this, a novel model of a spatially explicit metapopulation, with organ-ism-mediated nutrient flow between fragmented habitat patches, was implemented by means of computer simulations.     Sammanfattning : The fracture-valley landscape within the Gothenburg region was analysed based on LiDAR-derived hillshade images as well as several sources of orthomosaics. Using a manual lineament interpretation approach and complimented with an objective fractal analysis software (FROST), the objective of the study was to characterise the regional fracture sets as well as attempt to link the sets to the complex regional geological history.
