  1. 1. Laser Ablation in Magnetites; Unravelling the Signatures of Trace Element Patterns for Ore Petrogenesis : Trace element signatures of magnetite linked to metallogenesis of iron mineralizations of the Kiruna type

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Siôn Kinson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :EPMA; LA-ICPMS; petrogenesis; magnetite; orthomagmatic; igneous; hydrothermal; alteration; EPMA; LA-ICPMS; petrogenes; magnetit; ortomagmatisk; stollande; hydrotermisk; förändring;

    Sammanfattning : Trace element analyses of magnetite samples from multiple ore deposits worldwide have recently been conducted, using both EPMA and LA-ICPMS, in order to try and understand the petrogenesis of Kiruna-type ore deposits. Here I employ literature data and new data from Kiruna and Grängesberg (Sweden) to help constrain and visualise evolutionary trends recorded by our samples and derive an overall model for the evolutionary processes that lead to Kiruna-type deposits. 2. 2. Undersökning av lakningspotential och kristallareafördelning av opaka mineral i bergarter från Ekobacken, Värmdö kommun

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Andrei Rapp; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Acid Rock Drainage; drainage potential; crystal-area distibution; sulphide minerals; Ekobacken; surt lakvatten; lakningspotential; kristallareafördelning; sulfidmineral; Ekobacken;

    Sammanfattning : Ekobacken, Värmdö kommun, har problem med surt yt- och grundvatten med höga metallhalter. Uppmärksamheten har riktats mot berggrunden som krossats och lagrats i deponihögar. Bildningen av sur lak styrs av flertalet geokemiska egenskaper, bland annat vilka sulfidmineral som förekommer och deras kristallstruktur. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigation into the Loess-Palaeosol and Red Clay Record from the Pliocene- Quaternary Chinese Loess Plateau Using In-Phase and Out-OfPhase Magnetic Susceptibility

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Rebecca Jacobson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :loess; Chinese Loess Plateau; magnetic susceptibility; out-of-phase; viscous relaxation; lössjord; Kinesiska Lössjordsplatån; magnetiska känsligheter; ur-fas; viskös relaxation;

    Sammanfattning : Loess is a well sorted, fine grained, windblown (aeolian) sediment and deposits as a blanket over large areas, reaching from a few centimetres to several hundreds of meters in height and can drape large landscapes in form of mountains. During a more humid and warmer climate, redox conditions are changed in the loess deposits, with greater seasonal moisture creating greater soil formation (pedogenesis), i. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Characterizing magnetic susceptibility and remanent magnetization of magnetite and hematite rich drill-core samples at Blötberget

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Författare :Andreas Bjork; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Verwey; Morin; Curie; Néel; magnetite; hematite; alteration; iron-ore; quality control; kappabridge; hysteresis; susceptibility; anisotropy; Verwey; Morin; Curie; Néel; magnetit; hematit; oxidation; järnmalm; kvalitetskontroll; kappabridge; hysteresis; susceptibilitet; anisotropi;

    Sammanfattning : Laboratory magnetic measurements are used to develop a methodology to characterize the Kiruna-type Rare Earth Elements (REE) bearing apatite iron-oxide deposits at Blötberget in central Sweden. This high-grade ore deposit is known to have sharp boundaries between lens shaped main ore bodies of magnetite-rich ore, and a complex hematite-rich ore associated with pegmatites and skarn formation. 5. 5. A Petrological Investigation of the Host Rocks for the Kuj-Kiirunavaara Ore

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Holger Sandberg; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Kiirunavaara; optical mineralogy; hydrothermal alteration; electron microprobe; Kiirunavaara; optisk mineralogi; hydrotermal omvandling; elektron-mikrosond;

    Sammanfattning : The Kiirunavaara mine hosts one of the world’s largest apatite-iron ore mineralisations. This ore body has been subject to large amounts of research as well as extensive mining. The ore body is situated between the syenitic foot wall and the rhyodacitic hanging wall, of which consists of differing mineralogy and characteristics. LÄS MER
