6. Surf Simulation with the Shallow Water Equations : Coupling of a surfer model to a shallow water wave
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the subject of deriving and solving the system of partial differential equations known as the Shallow Water Equations (SWE), and coupling the solutions of this equation system to a simplified model of a surfer - or any floating object, with the right choice of parameters. The SWE are generally used to analyze fluid movement on shallow areas, such as ocean waves nearing the shore, and are derived from the Navier-Stokes equations and restricted to conservation of mass and momentum in a fluid. 7. Influence of Foundation Modelling on the Seismic Response of a Concrete Dam
Master-uppsats, KTH/BetongbyggnadSammanfattning : It is of great importance to ensure the structural safety of dams during earthquakes since a failure may cause catastrophic consequences. Conventional computation of the structural response of dams is based on a simplified approach where the foundation is considered as massless. LÄS MER
8. Brandfarliga vätskor i syrereducerade miljöer
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för BrandteknikSammanfattning : Unmanned warehouses are increasing in number as workers are replaced by automated robotic systems. This type of facility, among others, is well suited for an oxygen reduction system for fire protection. By lowering the oxygen concentration, the risk of fire propagation is reduced and might be hindered altogether. LÄS MER
9. Component-Based Transfer Path Analysis and Hybrid Substructuring at high frequencies : A treatise on error modelling in Transfer Path Analysis
Master-uppsats, KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Avd.)Sammanfattning : The field of modal testing and analysis is currently facing a surge of interest in error modelling. Several errors which occur during testing campaigns are modelled analytically or numerically and propagated to various system coupling and interface reduction routines effectively. LÄS MER
10. Drag based forecast for CME arrival
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomiSammanfattning : Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are considered to be one of the most energetic events in the heliosphere. Capable of inducing geomagnetic storms on Earth that can cause damage to electronics, a pillar which the modern society we live in leans heavily upon. LÄS MER
