  1. 1. Analyzing the Negative Log-Likelihood Loss in Generative Modeling

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Aleix Espuña I Fontcuberta; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Generative modeling; Normalizing flows; Generative Adversarial Networks; MaximumLikelihood Estimation; Real Non-Volume Preserving flow; Fréchet Inception Distance; Misspecification; Generativa metoder; Normalizing flows; Generative adversarial networks; Maximum likelihood-metoden; Real non-volume preserving flow; Fréchet inception distance; felspecificerade modeller;

    Sammanfattning : Maximum-Likelihood Estimation (MLE) is a classic model-fitting method from probability theory. However, it has been argued repeatedly that MLE is inappropriate for synthesis applications, since its priorities are at odds with important principles of human perception, and that, e.g. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Boreal forests are particularly vulnerable to climate change, experiencing a much more drastic increase in temperatures and having a limited amount of more northern refugia. The trees making up these vast and important ecosystems already had to adapt previously to environmental pressures brought about by the repeated glaciations during past ice ages. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nydanande metodik för parameteruppskattning inom ett empiriskt Bayesianskt ramverk

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för matematiska vetenskaper

    Författare :Alexander Lehnberg; Malte Rundqvist; Emanuel Abada; Lukas Johansson; Sulaiman Carneli; [2021-07-01]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Undersökningen behandlar en alternativ metod för parameteruppskattning kalladWeighted Likelihood estimation (WLE) och dess asymptotiska egenskaper i jämförelse med mer etablerade metoder. Kortfattat utnyttjar metoden parameteruppskattningar som empiriska priorifördelningar och summerar dessa med vikter proportionella mot likelihooden för att producera den posteriora fördelningen. 4. 4. Estimation of satellite orbits using ground based radar concept

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Författare :Jonas Gabrielsson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Today an abundance of objects are circulating in earth captured orbit. Monitoring these objects is of national security interest. One way to map any object in orbit is with their Keplerian elements. A method for estimating the Keplerian elements of a satellite orbit simulating a ground based radar station has been investigated. 5. 5. Inverse Uncertainty Quantification using deterministic sampling : An intercomparison between different IUQ methods

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysik

    Författare :Hjalmar Andersson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Inverse Uncertainty Quantification; Model calibration; Unscented transform; Deterministic sampling;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, two novel methods for Inverse Uncertainty Quantification are benchmarked against the more established methods of Monte Carlo sampling of output parameters(MC) and Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Inverse Uncertainty Quantification (IUQ) is the process of how to best estimate the values of the input parameters in a simulation, and the uncertainty of said estimation, given a measurement of the output parameters.
