  1. 1. Something's in the Air: Exploring Wind Power Investment Incentives in Sweden

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :Herman Rogefors; William Karlsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wind Power; Merit Order Effect; Swedish Electricity Market; Firm Profitability; Investments;

    Sammanfattning : Swedish wind power generation levels have shifted materially over the last decade, nearly accounting for 20% of the total electricity supply by the end of 2021. Along with rapid infrastructure development, industry ownership structures have changed, and foreign equity in wind power is estimated to increase from 36% in 2016 to 66% in 2024. LÄS MER

  2. 2. New natural gas power plants in the EU : -The risks of stranded assets under different fuel and carbon price scenarios

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :John Mogren Olsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Current and planned fossil fuelled electricity generation is expected to meet or exceed the global carbon budget for 2°C, without including emissions from any other economic sector. At the current rate, the EU ETS will stop issuing new emissions allowances to industry and power plants before 2040. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Understanding the Relation between Wind Power Output and Strategic Withholding through Production Failures: Evidence from Diversified Producers in Sweden

    C-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :William Stålhök; Knut Örnéus; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Production Failures; Wind Power; Market Power; Strategic Withholding; Merit Order Effect;

    Sammanfattning : Previous research provide partial evidence for electricity producers utilizing production failures to disguise the strategic withholding of capacity as well as evidence of diversified electricity producers counteracting the price-reducing effect of the merit order through capacity withholding. In this study, we investigate whether an increased supply of wind power affects the number of reported unplanned production failures among diversified producers in Sweden, thus suggesting this being one of the specific mechanisms with which producers counteract the merit order effect. 4. 4. Impact of offtake mechanisms on wind turbine selection and design in North and Central Europe

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Gesa Reiter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wind energy; offtake mechanisms; wind turbine configuration and design; rated power; capacity factor; Renewable Energy Sources Act; EEG; PPA; merchant; profitability; NPV; IRR; Vindkraft; upphandlingsmekanismer; vindturbiners konfiguration och utformning; nominell effekt; kapacitetsfaktor; lagen om förnybara energikällor; EEG; energiköpsavtal; handelsprissättning; lönsamhet; NPV; IRR;

    Sammanfattning : Wind power has become a major supplier of electricity in the European market in the last years. In 2020, 13% of electricity generated on the European continent was wind energy (onshore and offshore) and these shares are projected to increase in the next years due to reasons such as climate change and the energy security aspect. 5. 5. Wind Power and Electricity Price Dynamics : An Empirical Analysis on the Swedish Day-Ahead Market

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Författare :Maurus Grond; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Facing large-scale electrification, Swedish electricity markets are projected to undergo fundamental changes over the next decades. With climate protection goals in mind, wind-powered electricity will play a crucial role in supplying tomorrow’s electricity to Swedish households and industry. LÄS MER
