  1. 1. The potential nitrous oxide emissions in a permanent grassland chronosequence

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology

    Författare :Sandra Lillsjö Kronblad; [2023]
    Nyckelord :nitrous oxide emission; permanent grasslands; denitrification; nitrous; reen house gas; agriculture;

    Sammanfattning : As a part of a larger project (Belowground biodiversity of grasslands – conservation needs and potential to promote sustainable agriculture), this study aims to investigate potential nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions and microbial gene abundances needed for the production (nirS and nirK) and reduction (nosZI and nosZII) of nitrous oxide in soil of permanent grasslands of various age. Thegrasslands have at different times been converted to permanent grasslands and are of interest because of the possibility to shed more light about the passage of time’s affects on the soil microbialcommunities and their activity. 2. 2. En jämförande studie av engångs- och flergångstextiler på operationsavdelningen : med fokus på aseptik och miljöpåverkan

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Alex Berg; Klara Siegrist Jönsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :aseptik; engångsoperationsrockar; flergångsoperationsrockar; livscykelanalys LCA ; miljöpåverkan; operationslakan; operationstextiler; vårdrelaterad infektion VRI ;

    Sammanfattning : Miljöförändringar är ett globalt problem som påverkar både människor och djur. Klimatförändringar blir allt vanligare och leder till allvarliga konsekvenser som höjda havsnivåer, extremväder och negativ inverkan på den biologiska mångfalden. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Metagenomic insights into AMR distributions in freshwaters and soils

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Jay Håkansson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :AMR; metagenomics; freshwater; microbial ecology; soil; antimicrobial resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is rapidly becoming a public health issue, as more and more infectious bacteria become resistant to our known antibiotics. Suggested reasons for the proliferation of these strains are misuse and overuse of antimicrobials, especially on an industrial level, in agriculture, livestock and aquaculture. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Global Cultures – Critical Zone Observatories of Everyday Objects : (A Global Environmental History of Yogurt)

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Leni Charbonneau; [2022]
    Nyckelord :yogurt; biofilm; critical zone observatory; microbiopolitics; probiotic; microbial biodiversity; new materialism; OOO;

    Sammanfattning : This study turns to what is for many an everyday item – yogurt – as a critical zone observatory, a synergistic, place-based laboratory which aims to integrate heterogenous representations of planetary phenomena as they are registered at a common surface. Yogurt has an impressive cultural endurance largely derived from its prominence in various paradigms of health. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Relating the impacts of regenerative farming practices to soil health and carbon sequestration on Gotland, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Laerke Daverkosen; Alena Holzknecht; [2021]
    Nyckelord :regenerative agriculture; soil health; carbon sequestration; Gotland Sweden ;

    Sammanfattning : Land degradation, greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss through agriculture are some of the greatest challenges we are facing today. Fertile and productive soils are the basis of life on this planet and need to be protected and restored to support a growing population and lower negative impacts of climate change. LÄS MER
