  1. 1. Low temperature embrittlement of duplex stainless steels : A study of alloying elements’ effect

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Libang Lai; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Duplex stainless steels; low temperature embrittlement; phase separation; alloying element; vanadium addition; mechanical properties; Rostfria duplexstål; sprödhet vid låg temperatur; fasseparering; legeringselement; tillsats av vanadin; mekaniska egenskaper;

    Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels (DSSs), consisting of an equal amount of ferrite and austenite phases, have wide applications in e.g. vehicles, chemical engineering as well as nuclear plant  because  of  the  combination  of  excellent  mechanical properties  and  corrosion resistance. 2. 2. Growth and structural characterization of GaP-GaPSb nanowires

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik

    Författare :Dario Stjärnemyr Ghidini; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Material Science; Nanowire; GaPSb; Physics and Astronomy; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis epitaxial growth of Ga(P1-xSbx) and analysis by electron microscopy are presented. To the authors knowledge Ga(P1-xSbx)has not been grown in the form of nanowires before and the main motivation of this work is to investigate the possibility of overcoming the miscibility gap (1-99%) in nanostructures. 3. 3. Spinodal Decomposition in the Binary Fe-Cr System

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Metallografi

    Författare :Saeed Baghsheikhi; [2009]
    Nyckelord :Fe-Cr binary system; phase diagram; miscibility gap; spinodal decomposition; nucleation and growth; hardness; TEM; contrast modulations;

    Sammanfattning : Spinodal decomposition is a phase separation mechanism within the miscibility gap. Its importance in case of Fe-Cr system, the basis of the whole stainless steel family, stems from a phenomenon known as the “475oC embrittlement” which results in a ruin of mechanical properties of ferritic, martensitic and duplex stainless steels.
