    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to introduce the tools that are needed to understand — and historically led to the inception of — Hitchin systems. We lay out a basic theory of Hamiltonian systems on symplectic manifolds, and prove the Liouville-Arnold theorem, which states that integrable Hamiltonian systems admit coordinates in which their solution is basically linear.     Sammanfattning : In the present project we study compactifications of type IIA/IIB string theories on toroidal orbifolds. We present the moduli space for N=1 four-dimensional reductions and its topological properties. To fix the value of all moduli, we will construct the most general holomorphic superpotential W using a set of T-dual iterations for the fluxes. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Polymer based porous materials largely exhibit viscoelastic properties which is a consequence of the viscoelastic nature of the constituent solid. If the constitutive relation for the constituent solid is known, then it is of interest to investigate how this constitutive relation of the solid at the microscale influences the macroscopic properties of the porous structure.
