  1. 6. Thrill vs. Cybersickness : A study on camera settings’ impact on immersion and cybersickness in VR Racing Games.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för speldesign

    Författare :Ivan Fomenko; Taninwat Kaewpankan; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Camera Shake; Cybersickness; Sense of Speed; Simulated Racing Games; Speed Perception; Virtual Reality;

    Sammanfattning : Among the biggest challenges in the development of VR has been creating an overall sense of immersion and presence as well as finding methods to reduce cybersickness. These aspects have been major obstacles to the widespread adoption of virtual reality since its existence. LÄS MER

  2. 7. DEVELOPMENT OF IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF A VINTAGE CINEMA THEATRE - Explore techniques of game design and immersive technology to recreate the experience of exploring the Flamman cinema building

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Författare :PETRA BÉCZI; [2021-11-03]
    Nyckelord :virtual reality; Oculus Quest 2; preserving cultural heritage; Blender; Unity game engine; game design and development; haptics; immersive simulation; motion sickness; technological affordances; computer graphics; performance optimization; play testing and observation; interview; thematic analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Virtual reality (VR) made cinema applications today can be considered as simple media players that are often set in a fictions environment without the privilege of explorability given to the user - who from the start remains seated in the virtual world. That is due to the definition of user control which is restrained to the extent that the controllers are moderated to the definition of interaction with graphical user interfaces such as media player buttons. 3. 8. Cultural Heritage Reconstruction of the Cinema Flamman Using VR

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Författare :Joakim Burman; Jonathan Eksberg; Mirai Ibrahim; Tommi-Roy Karlsson; Johan Pettersson; Adam Rohdell; [2021-09-14]
    Nyckelord :Virtual Reality; User Experience; Cultural Heritage Preservation; Software Development; Game Design;

    Sammanfattning : Virtual reality is adopted in many areas such as the military, education, health care, and preservation of cultural heritage. This thesis will further explore the possibility of cultural heritage preservation in virtual reality by reconstructing the environment of the old and defunct cinema in Gothenburg named Flamman. 4. 9. Using EEG in neurofeedbacktraining to decrease visual motionsensitivity and motion-sickness

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Ódinn K. Rúnarsson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :EEG; vertigo; motion sickness; neurofeedback training; rehabilitation; EE-utrustning; visuell yrsel; åksjuka; neurofeedback träning; rehabilitering;

    Sammanfattning : Patients who suffer from motion-sickness, visual vertigo and other conditions relating to visual hypersensitivity will often feel dizzy when exposed to rapid visual motion or cluttered fields-of-view. Previous studies indicate that attentiveness to these stimuli influence the intensity of discomfort for these individuals, which suggests that mentally ignoring visual stimuli might help make them more tolerable. 5. 10. E-bike Simulator - a virtual reality application that evaluates user interfaces in an urban traffic environment

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ergonomi och aerosolteknologi

    Författare :Mustafa Al-Kefagy; Sava Pokrajac; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Virtual Reality; Simulation; User Interface; E-bike; motion sickness; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : When developing a User Interface (UI), testing the design in a designated area of use is of the utmost importance. However, Testing a UI for a bike in a traffic environment can be both difficult and risky. This thesis aims to solve this problem by developing a VR application in which UIs can be compared and evaluated in a controlled environment. LÄS MER
