1. Replacement of fish protein in fish feed : effects on the yeast flora in the gut of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus)
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Nutrition and ManagementSammanfattning : The aim with this study was to investigate how feeds with different protein sources influence the levels and composition of the yeast flora in the gut of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus). Arctic charr were fed for two weeks on a control diet (C) with fishmeal (FM) or experimental diets with 40% FM replaced by yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) (Y), meal from blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) (M) or a feed with Baltic Sea originated protein; 33% FM, 33% mussel meal (MM) and 33% S. 2. MINERAL CARRYOVER FROM SHELLED MUSSEL MEAL IN THE SPOTTED WOLFFISH (ANARHICHAS MINOR). Potential of dietary mineral supplementation on growth, stress and health.
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskapSammanfattning : The potential of Swedish aquaculture is currently not fulfilled as Sweden is still a net importer of fish with low production and narrow species diversity. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in expanding and diversifying Swedish aquaculture to make it more sustainable and competitive. LÄS MER
4. Baltic blue mussel (Mytilus edulis L.) and black soldier fly (Hermetia. illucens) combined with pea protein concentrate as protein sources in feed for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Animal Nutrition and ManagementSammanfattning : A feeding trial was conducted for 9 weeks to test the growth performance, nutrient retention and digestibility in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in order to assess the potential of Baltic blue mussel meal (Mytilus edulis L) and black solider fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) meal as protein sources. The dietary treatments consisted of one control diet based on high quality fishmeal, one control diet based on pea protein concentrate for testing dietary palatability and two fishmeal-free experimental diets where approximately 20% of the crude protein from the fishmeal was replaced with the protein from either de-shelled blue mussel meal or larvae meal on a dry matter basis. 5. Using Blue Mussels as a Tool for Mitigating Eutrophication in the Baltic Sea
Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Industriell miljöteknikSammanfattning : Eutrophication is a consequence of excess nutrients in the water which leads to increased algaegrowth, reduced water transparency and hypoxic bottoms. This is the biggest environmental problemfor the Baltic Sea which recently has resulted in stricter legislations and other initiatives to help theBaltic Sea to recover. LÄS MER
