    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates how repression in the form of gender-based violence (GBV) towards women in maximalist nonviolent campaigns affect the likelihood of success for the campaigns, as this has been identified as a gap in the previous research. The hypothesis in the paper was that maximalist nonviolent campaigns where women have been subjected to gender-based violence are more likely to succeed than campaigns where women have not been subjected to gender-based violence.     Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I examine whether unconditional cash transfers to poor femaleheaded households have an effect on children’s educational attainment. Using a historical Swedish child allowance policy that targeted unconditional cash transfers to widow mothers with an income below a poverty threshold, I lay out a credible identification strategy, to test the hypothesis with a regression kink design.
