  1. 1. Testing for verification and validation of an onboard orbit determination system exploiting GNSS : A nanosatellite application for HERMES-SP

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Clara Nermark; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Onboard orbit determination system; GNSS; nanosatellite; testing; verification and validation; Ombord banbestämning; GNSS; nanosatellit; testning; verifikation och validering;

    Sammanfattning : When developing products for space, including nanosatellites, the verification and validation process is a mandatory part of any project conducted within the European space industry. Within such a process, testing is a method for verification and validation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Finite Element Analysis of Stresses in the MIST CubeSat due to Dynamic Loads During Launch

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner

    Författare :Carl Järmyr Eriksson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Satellite; CubeSat; Nanosatellite; Dynamic Loads; Launch Loads; Finite Element Analysis; FEA; Quasi-static Acceleration; Modal Analysis; Random Vibration; Shock Loads; satellit; CubeSat; nanosatellit; dynamiska laster; uppskjutningslaster; finita elementmetoden; FEM; kvasistatisk acceleration; modalanalys; stokastiska vibrationer; chocklaster;

    Sammanfattning : A finite element model of the CubeSat MIST was created, in order to assess the stresses that occur in the satellite in response to loads during its launch. Due to size limits of thesoftware used, simplifications had to be made to the geometry of the model. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Conceptual Design of an Air-Launched Three-Staged Orbital Launch Vehicle

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Måns Rasmussen; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Air-launched; Launch Vehicle; Three-staged; Rocket; Sun-Synchronous orbit; Solid propellant; Liquid propellant; Trajectory optimization; Nonlinear programming; JAS 39 Gripen; Fighter aircraft; Luftlanserad; Trestegsraket; Solsynkron bana; Fast bränsle; Flytande bränsle; Bananalys; Icke-linjär optimering; JAS 39 Gripen; Jaktflygplan;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this study was to design a launch vehicle capable of deploying a nanosatellite into a Sun-synchronous orbit at 500 km orbital altitude from the JAS 39E/F Gripen fighter aircraft. This was achieved by first performing theoretical calculations for the required nozzles and solid propellant grain configurations for the first two solid stages, followed by the necessary liquid propellant configuration for the third stage. 4. 4. Integration and validation of a nanosatellite flight software (ESA OPS-SAT project)

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Anthony Surivet; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Flight software; On-board autonomy; Orbit control; Collision risks; Nanosatellite; Flygprogramvara; Inbyggd autonomi; Banreglering; Kollisionsrisker; Nanosatellit;

    Sammanfattning : With the increasing number of satellites operating in orbit and the development of nanosatelliteconstellations, it has become more and more arduous for operators to keep track of every satellitestate, and perform corrective or avoidance manoeuvres. That is why CNES, the French space agency,is developing new algorithms, which aimed at making satellites more self-su cient. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Methods to operate and evaluate the performance of a cold-gas CubeSat propulsion system on a magnetically stabilised satellite

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Victor Alberto Gonzalez Marin; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Propulsion system; CubeSat; Performance; Operating procedure; Mission experiment; Framdrivningssystem; CubeSat; Prestanda; Driftsrutin; Driftprov;

    Sammanfattning : Propulsion systems allow satellites to perform many functionalities in space, such as orbital station keeping, reentry control, attitude control, orbital transferring, rendezvous operation, and even more thrilling, interplanetary travel. Indeed, propulsion systems in satellites have fostered a new favourable era of space exploration and application, therefore, detailed processes to operate propulsion systems need to be developed so that space missions, carrying this valuable system, are completed successfully.
