  1. 1. Analysis of Atmospheric Muon Bundles with IceCube

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Författare :Anna Selina Neyer; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This work is a preliminary study of the background of a search for dark, long-lived particles in the IceCube detector. The high flux of atmospheric muons in IceCube is considered background to the detector's primary science goal, which is to detect astrophysical neutrinos through the emission of Cherenkov radiation. 2. 2. Reconstruction of Radio Detector Data using Graph Neural Networks

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Författare :Arnau Serra Garet; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The current neutrino detectors have been able to detect neutrinos in the range of TeV to 100 PeV, however, ultra high energy (UHE) neutrinos above 100 PeV still remain to be detected. A new neutrino detector, the RNO-G, is currently being constructed in Greenland with the purpose of detecting the first UHE neutrinos using radio antennas capable of measuring the Askaryan pulse generated after a neutrino interaction with the ice molecules. 3. 3. Non-linear effects in the ATLAS track-counting luminosity measurement

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Författare :Daniel Gautam; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Particle physics; CERN; ATLAS; Track counting; Luminosity; Monte Carlo; Track Selection;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the linearity of the ATLAS track-counting luminosity measurement is studied using two different sets Monte Carlo simulated crossings of proton-proton bunches. A primary high-momentum, or hard, interaction must be chosen for the Monte Carlo simulation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Exploring Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background in Hyper-Kamiokande

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Klara Cider; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background (DSNB) that is expected to be detected in the future neutrino detector Hyper-Hamiokande. DSNB refers to the flux which is made up of neutrinos from all past core-collapsing supernova explosions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Neutron backgrounds in neutrino-nucleus scattering at the European Spallation Source

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :José Guilherme Rodrigues de Albuquerque Vale; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Neutrino-nucleus scattering; background; PHITS; weight window; ESS; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Being, when built, the most powerful neutron accelerator in the world, there will be a large number of potential discoveries at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund. One of the most exciting of these, from a particle physics point of view, is the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEνNS). LÄS MER
