1. Towards Automatic Model Atoms from the VALD Atomic Database: from He to U
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk astrofysikSammanfattning : The ejecta following the collision and merging of two neutron stars (kilonova) are currently considered promising sites for nucleosynthesis of r-process elements. Since the observed kilonova in 2017, GW2017817, astrophysicists have been working to analyze the collected electromagnetic spectra, trying to identify r-process elements. LÄS MER
2. Self-consistent dielectric formalism scheme for the paramagnetic electron gas under warm dense matter conditions
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : The present thesis aims to further a somewhat unexplored area of Warm Dense Matter (WDM) physics through the use of tools developed within the dielectric formalism. WDM is an exotic form of matter with densities close to the solid state and temperatures of several eV. LÄS MER
3. Escaping Compact Object Binaries from Globular Clusters
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : Since 2015, the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA scientific collaboration (LVK) has detected gravitational waves from more than 90 merging compact object binaries using ground-based interferometric detectors. Compact objects orbiting in binary systems emit gravitational waves leading to a loss of energy. LÄS MER
4. Synergies between Gaia, LSST and LISA
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : The scientific development of astronomy today mainly comes from the information that can be obtained via electromagnetic radiation. Today, the Gaia optical telescope is one of the most ambitious space projects man has ever completed. Another optical telescope LSST is designed to complement Gaia. LÄS MER
5. Studies of Possible QGP Estimators in proton-proton Collisions
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : This thesis presents studies of three different Quark-Gluon Plasma estimators in proton-proton collisions using what is currently believed to be quark-gluon plasma observables; radial flow, elliptic flow and strangeness enhancement. The three tested estimators were Transverse Spherocity, an altered version of Transverse Spherocity where all p_T was put to one, and a newly developed estimator called Mid-Forward. LÄS MER
