  1. 1. Characterization of Compost from Reusable Industrial Streams: : physical, Nutrient, and Microbial Properties

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Ellen Ek Moreau; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Spent mushroom compost; apple orchard waste; soil amendment; compost optimization; circular agriculture;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing global population, combined with soil degradation, poses challenges to food security, and raises concerns about the excessive and long-term use of conventional fertilizers. Evaluating sustainable alternative by-products for their soil-improving properties could offer a potential solution, particularly for Swedish fruit producers who can tap into local waste streams as a circular source of plant nutrients. 2. 2. Autonomous Control in Advanced Life Support Systems : Air Revitalisation within the Micro-Ecological Life Support System Alternative

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Lukas Demey; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Advanced Life Support Systems; Cyber-Physical Systems; Control Architecture; Distributed Software Architecture; Space Exploration; Avancerade livsuppehållande system; cyberfysiska system; kontrollarkitektur; distribuerad mjukvaruarkitektur; rymdutforskning;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years international space agencies have become more and more explicit about long term lunar and Martian space missions. With the space program Terrae Novae, the European Space Agency puts forward a focus on the development of Human & Robotic Exploration technologies essential in enabling such long term missions. 3. 3. Utvärdering av driftdata i fullskala för minimering av lustgasutsläpp på Henriksdals Reningsverk

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Erika Forsén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Nitrous oxide; nitrification; denitrification; greenhouse gas; biological treatment; ammonium feedback control; oxygen set-point; nitrate recirculation; nitrite; nitrate; ammonium; wastewater treatment plant; nitrous oxygen production; Lustgas; nitrifikation; växthusgas; biologisk rening; ammoniumåterkoppling; syrebörvärden; nitratrecirkulation; nitrit; nitrat; ammonium; avloppsreningsverk; lustgasproduktion; denitrifikation;

    Sammanfattning : Lustgas är en växthusgas, ca 300 gånger mer potent än koldioxid och som har potential att bryta ned ozonlagret med sin livslängd på 120 år i atmosfären. Lustgasutsläppen beräknas ha ökat med mellan 20–30% sedan förindustriell tid vilket tros bero på en ökad användning av konstgödsel i jordbrukssektorn men en del av all lustgas som bildas kommer från avloppsreningsverk vilka står för ca 1,6% av lustgasavgången till atmosfären där Henriksdals reningsverk bidrar med lustgasproduktion. 4. 4. Investigating organic fertilisers’ ability to mineralize during the first month of plant propagation

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Sebastan Farkas; [2023]
    Nyckelord :organic fertilizers; sustainability; mineralisation; nitrification;

    Sammanfattning : There are many forms of organc fertilizers produced and sold in the EU, and it can be difficult to assess which ones are the best in regards of nutrient content and the rate of mineraliztion. Two separate trials were conducted to assess the mineralization rates of three different organic fertilizers, available for private customers, on the Swedish market. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Separation and acidification of digested animal manure : properties of the future organic fertilizers

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Marie Björs; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Digestate; Eutrophication; Farmers’ survey; Plasma activation; Screw press;

    Sammanfattning : Agricultural areas with a high animal density contribute to eutrophication in waterbodies and seas worldwide due to accumulation of nutrients around animal farms. Animal manure is heavy and bulky, thus unpractical to transport long distances and new techniques have been developed to refine animal manure and make it easier to transport. LÄS MER
