  1. 1. Implementation of a Block Krylov Algorithm in Variational Data Assimilation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Clémentine Gas; [2019]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Numerical weather prediction relies on two major components: sophisticated atmospheric forecast models and equally important data assimilation algorithms. Data assimilation (DA) is the process used to produce the best estimate of the state of a model, using an Earth system numerical model and observations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reduction of Temperature Forecast Errors with Deep Neural Networks

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Robin Isaksson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :numerical weather prediction; deep neural networks; machine learning; systematic forecast errors; numerisk väderprognos; djupa neuronnätverk; maskinlärning; systematiska prognosfel;

    Sammanfattning : Deep artificial neural networks is a type of machine learning which can be used to find and utilize patterns in data. One of their many applications is as method for regression analysis. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Numerical Simulation of Diurnal Planetary Boundary Layer Effects and Diurnal Mountain-Wind Effects

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Robin Isaksson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Numerical weather prediction; planetary boundary layer; mountain-wind system; WRF; Numerisk väderprognos; atmosfäriskt gränsskikt; bergvindsystem; WRF;

    Sammanfattning : The Weather Research and Forecasting Model was used to study its accuracy and representation in modelling a study area within a complex wind system as well as the effects on the model when using different input data and physics schemes. The complex wind system consists of diurnal mesoscale effects from the nearby Pyrenees mountain range and diurnal effects from the planetary boundary layer. LÄS MER
