1. Mängden död ved i värdekärnor i Söderåsens nationalpark
Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : There is a lack of knowledge about the development of the dead wood in former production beech (Fagus sylvatica) forests that have been protected. The present study has been carried out in Söderåsen National Park to compare the distribution of dead wood in relatively unaffected beech forests that have been protected for a long time (A-value cores) and older, previously managed beech forest that has only been protected for 20-30 years (B-value cores). 2. Effects of climate, soil, and forest structure on specific leaf area of understorey foundation plants
Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : Forest overstorey's interaction with understorey vegetation is a crucial aspect that impacts the biodiversity and resilience of forest ecosystems. Particularly, the influence of the overstorey on the specific leaf area (SLA) in understorey plants remains poorly understood. LÄS MER
4. Soil Carbon Stocks in Old Growth Forest : Drivers of variability in soil organic carbon stocks in old growth boreal forests
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : Soil organic carbon (SOC) is the largest carbon pool in terrestrial ecosystems, which plays an important role in climate change by regulating atmospheric carbon dioxide. Sweden’s forest management has led to a decrease in old growth forests. This change in land use can affect SOC levels in these forests. LÄS MER
5. Ectomycorrhizal fungi community shift along gradient from forest to clearcut : two field seasons after harvest of old growth Scots pine forests
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Mycology and Plant PathologySammanfattning : It is known that the number of ECM decline and the community composition is altered by clearcutting. This study aims to investigate impacts at a more detailed scale. LÄS MER
