   Sammanfattning : The primary aim of this thesis was to examine the relationship between board independence and financial institutions performance, while also examining the moderation effect on the institutional factors of shareholder and creditor rights on the association between board independence and performance. Previous crisis in Europe have led to Eurosceptical parties to adopt a negative stance towards the European Union, seemingly aligning with public opinion, However, it is unclear whether the changing of positioning for these parties occurs in both positive and a negative way, as adopting a less critical stance contradicts the political agendas of Eurosceptical parties.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this paper is to explore whether the implementation of the restrictive abortion policy House Bill 2 (HB2) in Texas 2013 impacted the abortion- and birth rates within the state, and whether the policy was associated with a change in the socioeconomic and demographic composition of women giving birth. For the first-stage regressions, state-level yearly panel data and a difference-in-difference framework are used to examine the impact of the policy on abortion- and birth rates. LÄS MER
