1. Reconstructing Mid-Late Holocene Arctic Climate Using Loess Deposits From Kangerlussuaq, Greenland
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : The current geological epoch, the Holocene, began 11,700 years ago. During this time, a thermal maximum in temperature was reached somewhere during the early-middle stage at 8-5 kyrs ago which was followed by a period of neoglacial cooling, culminating in the little ice age (LIA). 2. Ice advance-retreat sediment successions along the Logata River, Taymyr Peninsula, Arctic Siberia
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : A number of sites were investigated in river sections along the Logata River on the Taymyr Peninsula, Russia, and its adjacent areas to shed more light on the glaciation history over the last glacial cycles. The sediments exposed at the investigated sites are correlated and put into a local stratigraphic scheme divided into five main units. LÄS MER
3. Peat stratigraphical study of hydrological conditions at Stass Mosse, southern Sweden, and the relation to Holocene bog-pine growth
5. A high resolution analysis of macroscopic charcoal deposited in peat
L3-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : The amount of macroscopic charcoal in the top 25 cm of three cores from a peat land in Hornsö Ecopark, south-eastern Sweden, was compared to the dendrochronology inferred fire history of the site. Because of the occurrence of a recent fire ex-situ (1999) and one fire ¬in-situ inferred by three fire scared Scots pines, Pinus sylvestris, adjacent (5-10 m) to the peat cores, the site provided an excellent opportunity to compare the abundance of charcoal deposited in a peat land after fires in-situ and ex-situ.
