    Sammanfattning : Bakgrund: En stor del av de som överlevt sin cancer i bäckenområdet har fått strålbehandling som är en viktig del i den onkologiska behandlingen men som även ger oönskade sena biverkningar. Det mest förekommande av de sena biverkningarna efter strålbehandling i bäckenområdet är sena tarmbiverkningar som ger upphov till sena gastrointestinala symtom så som lösa avföringar, plötsliga avföringsträngningar, gaser, avföringsläckage, buksmärtor, uppspändhet och rektal blödning.
