1. Exploring New Physics Through Collider and Gravitational Wave Measurements with Artificial Neural Networks: the Case Study of QCD-like Technicolor
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : With physicists actively exploring Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) theories that may fill in the gaps of the Standard Model (SM), a fundamental question arises: which parameters hold physical significance? In this thesis, we present our initial progress towards the development of a model-independent artificial intelligence framework designed for conducting parameter space scans in BSM scenarios. Our framework incorporates several publicly available high-energy physics packages, namely SPheno, HiggsBounds, HiggsSignals, and CosmoTransitions. LÄS MER
2. Phase Transitions in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model with a Softly-Broken Z2 Symmetry
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : The two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) is an extension to the Standard Model which adds a second Higgs doublet. This extension provides freedom within the model, in comparison to the Standard Model, which makes it possible to study strong electroweak phase transitions. LÄS MER
3. Constraining the Higgs width in Higgs production associated with a top quark pair
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : In this thesis we study the width of the Higgs boson in the process pp → t ̄t 4l at LO using MadGraph5_aMC@NLO to generate the events. The contributions including the Higgs signal, continuum background and interference were considered in order to calculate the expected number of events in a broad range of four-lepton invariant masses. 4. Expansions of neutrino oscillation and decay probabilities in matter
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : We consider a simple model for invisible neutrino decay as a sub-leading effect in the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework, and use the Cayley–Hamilton formalism to obtain a full set of neutrino oscillation probabilities in matter. These are given as analytical series expansions in the small parameters α ∼ O(λ^2) and s_13 ∼ O(λ), where λ ≡ 0. LÄS MER
5. Trigger-Level Multiple Electron Event Classification with LDMX using Artificial Neural Networks
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Artificial neural networks is a powerful tool for classifying and identifying patterns in large amounts of data. One of the possible tasks of these networks is classification of data into categories. LÄS MER
