    Sammanfattning : Anharmonic decay of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons in zincblende semiconductors is not at present well characterized due to the polar and many-body nature of the problem. Femtosecond THz radiation offers a novel route to this study, as the interaction of this radiation is directly with the phonon lattice and these THz excited phonons do not have enough energy to excite electrons over the band gap.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work was to investigate ways to modify Silex sol-gel deposition of PZT (PbZrxTi(1-x)O3, Lead Zirconate Titanate) in order to improve its properties for energy harvesting applications. A number of methods to improve the figure of merit for energy harvesting (FOM= e312/ε), cause self-polarization, increase lifetime, reduce cost, increase throughput or simplify processing were tested.
