  1. 1. Developing a protocol for 3D-printable bioink from decellularised porcine tissue

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Författare :Vendela Sandin; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Scaffold; Extracellular matrix; ECM; Bioink; Bioprinting; Collagen; Pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : T-cell administration via a scaffold is a promising tool for treatment of inoperable solid tumours. Traditional scaffold materials lack the complexity of the extracellular matrix (ECM) that cells normally grow in. An alternative is to instead use decellularised ECM (dECM) from biological tissue to create the scaffold. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Indocyanine-green fluorescence imaging to detect anastomotic insufficiency after esophagectomy

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Författare :Love Kildetoft; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Fluorescence; Imaging; Indocyanine-green; ICG; Esophageal cancer; Physics; Photonics; Image Analysis; Blood Perfusion; Anastomotic leakage; Anastomotic insufficiency; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This research project is concerned with the development of simulation models and image analysis algorithms, as well as instrumentation for characterizing anastomotic leakages after a patient has undergone surgery for esophageal cancer. Anastomotic leakage is a high-incidence complication after esophagectomy, a surgical procedure for esophageal cancer. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigating permeability characteristics of porcine esophageal mucosa: A viable ex vivo model for human buccal mucosa

    Master-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa och samhälle (HS)

    Författare :Renugadevi Srinivasan; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Porcine esophageal mucosa; Permeability characteristics; Drug permeation; Inter-specimen variation; Intra-specimen variation.;

    Sammanfattning : Due to its larger surface area and ease of preparation, pig esophageal mucosa has emerged as a practical and viable alternative to buccal mucosa for studying permeability characteristics in vitro. However, the permeation results in biological membranes have shown high variability due to inter-specimen and intra-specimen variations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Permeation studies of Niacinamide and its effect on human skin

    Master-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för biomedicinsk vetenskap (BMV)

    Författare :Andebrhan Fsahaye; [2023]
    Nyckelord :niacinamide; permeation; human skin; impedance; hydration;

    Sammanfattning :  Background: Niacinamide (NIA) is one of the most commonly used cosmetic ingredients. It belongs to the vitamin-B3 family and has extensive dermatological therapeutic benefits. NIA has been proven to be a useful skincare product in serving as anti-acne agent, preventing skin hyperpigmentation, removal of wrinkles from the face etc. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Polymer gel dosimetry - Using MRI-readout, simplified relatively non-toxic mixing procedure tested on FLASH

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Författare :Maria Blomstedt; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background: One of the polymer gel dosimeters available today is the N-isopropylamide (NIPAM) polymer gel dosimeter which has a less toxic monomer compared to other polymer gels and the advantage of being able to be manufactured under normal oxygen levels. Polymer gel dosimeters in general are advantageous independent dosimeters to use for verification of new radiation treatment techniques due to its favorable qualities such as very high resolution, 3D coverage, tissue equivalence and independence of energy and incident direction of the radiation beam.
