  1. 1. Damage Assessment of the 2022 Tongatapu Tsunami : With Remote Sensing

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Geoinformatik

    Författare :Milton Larsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :remote sensing; land cover classification; Sentinel-1; Sentinel-2; change detection; change vector analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The Island of Tongatapu, Tonga, was struck by a tsunami on January 15, 2022. Internet was cut off from the island, which made remote sensing a valuable tool for the assessment of damages. Through land cover classification, change vector analysis and log-ratio image differencing, damages caused by the tsunami were assessed remotely in this thesis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Urban change detection on satellites using deep learning : A case of moving AI into space for improved Earth observation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Oliver Petri; [2021]
    Nyckelord :machine learning; deep learning; change detection; remote sensing; siamese CNN; on-board data processing; satellites; maskininlärning; djupinlärning; förändringsdetektion; fjärranalys; siamesiska CNN; databehandling ombord; satelliter;

    Sammanfattning : Change detection using satellite imagery has applications in urban development, disaster response and precision agriculture. Current deep learning models show promising results. However, on-board computers are typically highly constrained which poses a challenge for deployment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A study on the urbanization of Bengaluru, India between 2015 and 2020 based on Sentinel-1/2 data

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Shreyas Goswami; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Availability of timely information about land-use and land-cover (LULC) changes is essential for understanding and modelling the urbanization pattern, and thereby in planning sustainable urban development of a region accordingly. Remote sensing technology, using Earth observation satellites, has emerged as a reliable tool for timely monitoring of changes anywhere on Earth. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Remote sensing-based land cover classification and change detection using Sentinel-2 data and Random Forest : A case study of Rusinga Island, Kenya

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Tema Miljöförändring

    Författare :Malena Hesping; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Land cover classification; post-classification change detection; Random Forest; remote sensing; Sentinel-2;

    Sammanfattning : Healthy forests and soils are crucial for the very existence of mankind as they provide food, clean water and air, shade and protection against floods and storms. With their photosynthetic carbon storage ability, they mitigate climate change and fertilise and stabilise soils. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Multitemporal Satellite Data for Monitoring Urbanization in Nanjing from 2001 to 2016

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Geoinformatik

    Författare :Zipan Cai; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Urbanization; Nanjing; Remote Sensing; GIS; Support Vector Machine; Post-Classification Comparison; Change Vector Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Along with the increasing rate of urbanization takes place in the world, the population keeps shifting from rural to urban areas. China, as the country of the largest population, has the highest urban population growth in Asia, as well as the world. LÄS MER
