  2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Estimation of respiratory frequency from Heart Rate Variability

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Daniel Ågärd; [2023]
    Nyckelord :time-frequency analysis; multitaper spectrogram; Optimization; signal processing; heart rate variability; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : In this master's thesis the ability to estimate the respiratory frequency from heart rate variability measurement is analyzed. The goal was to implement a solution that is easily transferable to real time. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Machine Learning Approach to Skin Cancer Delineation on Photoacoustic Imaging

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Alice Fracchia; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Skin cancer; carcinoma; photoacoustic imaging; ultrasound imaging; machine learning; dimensionality reduction; sandpiles algorithm; active contour; multilayer perception MLP ; convolutional neural networks CNN ; autoencoder; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Skin cancer is a growing public health concern due to its prevalence among the population. Current clinical procedures require high invasiveness and multiple surgeries, which are responsible for patient discomfort and high medical expenses. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Improving Visibility Forecasts in Denmark Using Machine Learning Post-processing

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :August Thomasson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :visibility forecast; fog; machine learning; numerical weather predicition; XGBoost; Random Forest; siktprognos; dimma; maskininlärning; numerisk vädermodell; XGBoost; Random Forest;

    Sammanfattning : Accurate fog prediction is an important task facing forecast centers since low visibility can affect anthropogenic systems, such as aviation. Therefore, this study investigates the use of Machine Learning classification algorithms for post-processing the output of the Danish Meteorological Institute’s operational Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) model to improve visibility prediction.
