  1. 1. Insights Into Wind Profile Characteristics in the Arctic Marine Boundary Layer

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Charlotte Sophie Gausa; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Arctic; wind profile power law; MOST; boundary layer; low level jets; sea ice; vindprofil; Arktis; gränsskikt; vindenergi; låghöjdsvindar; havsis;

    Sammanfattning : The atmospheric boundary layer in the Arctic is essential for the understanding of climate change and improving regional weather prediction. The aim of this study is to investigate to which degree wind speed profiles retrieved in the Arctic agree with well known wind profile concepts and understand which local impact factors influence the wind speed profile. 2. 2. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :Andreas Stokkeland; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Multiplicity; Multiplicity classes; Soft interactions; Quark Gluon Plasma; QGP; transverse momentum; p_T; Chi-squared; fits; fit functions; Levy; Lévy; Exponential; BGBW; Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave; Fermi-Dirac; Bose-Einstein; Boltzmann; pion; kaon; proton; transverse momentum spectra; p_T spectra; surface velocity; Minimum Bias; MB; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 3. 3. Gone With the Headwind. Characterizing Erosion Using Lattice-Boltzmann Method : and its Implication in Planet Formation

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Författare :Lukas Cedenblad; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Erosion; Planet formation; Lattice-Boltzmann;

    Sammanfattning : Erosion has a long history in science and is used in many different fields today, for example in geology for coastal erosion and in the oil industry for pipe erosion. It is very difficult to study erosion both analytically. Numerically it is difficult due to moving and shape-changing boundaries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. WIND POWER PREDICTION MODEL BASED ON PUBLICLY AVAILABLE DATA: SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS ON ROUGHNESS AND PRODUCTION TREND

    Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Gireesh Sakthi; [2019]
    Nyckelord :wind resource assessment; wind power prediction model; wind power project; MIUU; wind flow modelling; annual energy production; production trend; wind measurement; power curve; power law exponent; roughness class;

    Sammanfattning : The wind power prediction plays a vital role in a wind power project both during the planning and operational phase of a project. A time series based wind power prediction model is introduced and the simulations are run for different case studies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The first supernovae and the mass distribution of Population III stars

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Martin Mikitas; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Astronomy; Supernovae; STARFIT; Salpeter; IMF; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The properties of the early Milky Way are quite mysterious and some are completely unknown even today. This study is the first one ever to analyze the mass distribution of Population III bulge stars. LÄS MER
