1. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 2. Developing an ML-based model for RF tuning of the DTL machine at ESS
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknikSammanfattning : The European Spallation Source (ESS) infrastructure is being constructed in Lund, and will be one of the most powerful research facilities of its type in the world. The ESS linear accelerator (linac) utilizes different accelerating sections where a wide variety of techniques should be employed to accelerate a beam of protons to 2 GeV kinetic energy through Radio Frequency (RF) cavities before being collided with a tungsten target for the final production of neutrons, through the process of spallation. 3. Polymer gel dosimetry with MRI-readout for 3D dose verification - detector characteristics and clinical applications
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/SjukhusfysikerutbildningenSammanfattning : Background & Purpose: Radiation therapy is an essential treatment for cancer patients with the ultimate goal to deliver radiation doses to the tumour with precision while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. Treatment verification is crucial to ensure the accuracy of radiation delivery, for instance by measuring the radiation dose distribution. LÄS MER
4. Neutron backgrounds in neutrino-nucleus scattering at the European Spallation Source
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : Being, when built, the most powerful neutron accelerator in the world, there will be a large number of potential discoveries at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund. One of the most exciting of these, from a particle physics point of view, is the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEνNS). LÄS MER
5. Experimental studies of radiation damage in uranium nitride
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The effect of proton (H+) irradiation on uranium mononitride (UN) and UN compositefuel with 10 at.% ZrN (UN10at%ZrN) was examined. Protons of 2 MeV with fluences of1E17, 1E18, 1E19 and 1E20 ions/cm2 were accelerated towards the fabricated samples in orderto investigate the evolution of the micro-structure. LÄS MER
