In surveillance contexts, radars can be used to monitor an area, detecting and tracking moving objects inside it. Monitored areas in urban environments often contain many surfaces that reflect radar waves, which can have the undesired consequence of a single object producing multiple tracks due to multipath propagation effects. The aim with this Master thesis work is to design, build and test a small size, light weight and low power consumption harmonic radar system that will be installed in a flying drone for the purpose of tracking and localizing tagged Bogong moths near their aestivation caves and crevices in Australia during summer. A FMCW harmonic radar is proposed, it comprises a radar transmitter, receiver and a signal processor. LÄS MER

The purpose of this paper is to design a new lightweight and compact antenna system for harmonic radar applications to be used to trace the migration of the Bogong moths. The main approach adopted in this paper to solve this problem is to build three antennas suitable for use in the real environment, where the modeling and the simulations were done in CST Microwave Studio Suite 2018.
