  1. 1. Station-level demand prediction in bike-sharing systems through machine learning and deep learning methods

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Nikolaos Staikos; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography; Ecosystem Analysis; Bike-sharing demand; Machine learning; Deep learning; Spatial regression; Graph Convolutional Neural Network; Multiple Linear Regression; Multilayer Perceptron Regressor; Support Vector Machine; Random Forest Regressor; Urban environment; Micro-mobility; Station planning; Geomatics; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Public Bike-Sharing systems have been employed in many cities around the globe. Shared bikes are an efficient and convenient means of transportation in advanced societies. Nonetheless, station planning and local bike-sharing network effectiveness can be challenging. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Exploring the Green Premium: A Hedonic Pricing Study on House Prices in Municipalities Adjacent to Färnebofjärden and Tyresta National Parks

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Författare :Tobias Strömbäck; Daniel Neij Boarder; [2023-06-29]
    Nyckelord :National Park; hedonic price model; proximity; property; willingness to pay;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis conducts a hedonic pricing model with multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between proximity to Färnebofjärden and Tyresta National Parks and house prices in adjacent municipalities between 2019 and 2020. The literature reviewed indicates a positive correlation, but it has various gaps which our thesis addresses. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Effects of Programming, Communication, and Equality on Contraceptive Uptake

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Författare :Christie Basson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Demography; contraceptives; family planning; fertility; sub-Saharan Africa; Uganda; Kenya; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This paper aims to better understand how contraceptive uptake is influenced by both individual and environmental factors, specifically in sub-Saharan Africa, by comparing Uganda and Kenya as examples of different policy environments. Implementing a literature review and statistical regression, this paper analyses how various factors (including indicators of gender equality, family planning exposure, and socioeconomic and -demographic status) influence differences in female and male use of family planning methods. 4. 4. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MACHINE LEARNING LOAD FORECASTING TECHNIQUES

    Magister-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för data- och systemvetenskap

    Författare :Humphry Takang Bate; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Load forecasting plays a critical role in energy management, and power systems, enabling efficient resource allocation, improved grid stability, and effective energy planning and distribution. Without accurate very short term load forecasting, utility management companies face uncertain load patterns, unrealistic prices, and poor infrastructure planning. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Understanding Access to Clean Cooking Fuels in Kenya

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Manuel Enrique Salas Salazar; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Adoption of clean cooking fuels is conditioned by factors known as barriers and enablers, which characterize the decision-making environment of a household. Access to clean cooking is a target part of the Sustainable Development Goals, yet it currently stands at 19.5% in Kenya. LÄS MER
