  1. 1. Spatial downscaling of gridded soil moisture products using optical and thermal satellite data: the effects of using different vegetation indices

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Tómas Halldórsson Alexander; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; Remote Sensing; Soil moisture; Downscaling; Vegetation index; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Soil moisture (SM) plays an important role in the exchange of heat and water between the surface and atmosphere, impacting water and energy cycles and the climate. Satellite remote sensing offers a global-scale estimation of SM; however, the coarse resolutions of satellite SM products, typically ranging from 25-50 km, are unsuitable for regional analysis. 2. 2. Conceptual design of an electronic “on the move” docking station for Ovzon satellite terminal

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Max Attergren; Martin Lindwall; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The following report discusses a master's thesis in the field of mechanical design within the Machine Design track at the Royal Institute of Technology. The thesis was commissioned by Svea Teknik AB and Ovzon AB. The project's starting point was an existing product in Ovzon's catalog, a satellite terminal of the T7 model. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molns inverkan på satellitdetektion av vegetationsbränder i Sverige

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Marcus Letalick; [2022]
    Nyckelord :clouds; satellite detection; VIIRS; active fires; forest fire; grass fire; FRP; NOAA-20; Suomi-NPP; JPSS; moln; satellitdetektion; VIIRS; skogsbrand; gräsbrand; vegetationsbrand; FRP; NOAA-20; Suomi-NPP; JPSS;

    Sammanfattning : Results are presented from the 2021 test run of active fire detection using the Visual Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) instrument, that is currently onboard the polar satellites Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20. The test is performed by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, in cooperation with local fire departments in Sweden. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Estimation of dissolved organic carbon from inland waters using remote sensing data and machine learning

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Lasse Harkort; [2022]
    Nyckelord :dissolved organic carbon; machine learning; remote sensing; inland waters; water quality; open source data; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the first attempt to estimate Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) in inland waters over a large-scale area using satellite data and machine learning (ML) methods. Four ML approaches, namely Random Forest Regression (RFR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), and a Multilayer Backpropagation Neural Network (MBPNN) were tested to retrieve DOC using a filtered version of the recently published open source AquaSat dataset with more than 16 thousand samples across the continental US matched with satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8 missions. 5. 5. Mussels in deep water with climate change: Spatial distribution of mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) growth offshore in the French Mediterranean with respect to climate change scenario RCP 8.5 Long Term and Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) using Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) modelling

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Victoria Persson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Physical Geography; Mediterranean; Mytilus galloprovincialis; Dynamic Energy Budget; DEB; growth rate; France; mussel cultivation; mussel farming; offshore; aquaculture; climate change; Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture; IMTA; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Victoria Persson Abstract Mussel cultivation is a sustainable type of food production that may help mitigate the nutritional needs of a future world population of 10-12 billion in 2100. The demand for mussels on the French market is increasing but the production is saturated due to a lack of space for expanding the cultivation close to shore. LÄS MER
