  1. 1. The bzzzt of frirends. Interspecific competition in Arctic plants for pollination services.

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Malin Olsson; [2023-06-27]
    Nyckelord :the Arctic; pollinator networks; competition; autonomous selfing; Arktis; pollinationsnätverk; konkurrens; autonom självpollinering;

    Sammanfattning : The Arctic has a harsh environment that is challenging for the flora and fauna that inhabits the region. The ruling abiotic factors of the region results is a low species richness that creates a potential challenge for the region’s plant species. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Drivers of flower size evolution in the selfing species Arabidopsis thaliana

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Clàudia Fernández Mestre; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Arabidopsis thaliana; petal size; fitness; selection; evolutionary drivers; GWAS;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of pollinators on the evolution of flower morphology has been extensively explored. Yet, the effect of other ecological factors, such as genetic drift, environmental filtering, and allometric constraints, gained less attention. In this study, we addressed the importance of those drivers in a predominantly selfing species. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigation of pollen limitation, inbreeding and outbreeding depression and heterosis in Euphrasia stricta var. suecica on Gotland

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Emelie Nilsson; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Pollen limitation; inbreeding depression; outbreeding depression; heterosis; Euphrasia stricta var. suecica; selfing; conservation;

    Sammanfattning : Habitat fragmentation is one of the main threats to semi-natural grasslands all over Europe, causing reductions in both numbers of populations and numbers of individuals withinpopulations. Small isolated populations are particularly vulnerable to fluctuations that reducespopulation size and could lead to loss of genetic variation due to inbreeding depression, orfixation of harmful alleles due to genetic drift. 4. 4. Has modern Swedish forestry affected genetic diversity in Norway spruce stands?

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Helena Dahlberg; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Picea abies; genetic differentiation; age groups; nuclear microsatellites; forestry;

    Sammanfattning : Norway spruce is one of two dominating species in Swedish forestry and the most economically important tree species in Sweden. In order to preserve the ability to adapt to a changing environment and to keep populations healthy, genetic diversity has to be preserved. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Faderskapsanalys av tallfrö från Västerhus fröplantage : Skillnaden i pollenkontaminering mellan öppen pollinering och pollinering inom ett avgränsat system

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Helena Dahlberg; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Paternity analysis; Seed orchard; Tent isolatoin; Pinus sylvestris; Pollen contamination;

    Sammanfattning : In this study, pollen contamination (measured by the number of seeds pollinated by pollen not belonging to any of the clones on the seed orchard) is compared between open pollination and isolated pollination environments in a Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) seed orchard called Västerhus, located outside Önsköldsvik. In this seed orchard a tent experiment is taking place. LÄS MER
