1. Laser dazzling of CMOS imaging sensors using amplitude modulated and continuous wave lasers
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : Protecting sensitive information is important, especially in defence applications. As cameras become more common, developing countermeasure systems that limit the information gathering capabilities of imaging sensors would be beneficial. LÄS MER
2. Simulation of Quantum Cascade Lasers
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysikSammanfattning : This thesis aimed to contribute to the improvement of Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) by focusing on the effective determination of quantum levels in these devices. The current method relies on an outdated Fortran code, which poses challenges when integrating into optimization schemes. LÄS MER
3. Construction of a scanning confocal microscope for Quantum Dot mapping at telecom wavelength
Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysikSammanfattning : Future commercial applications making use of non-classical light sources require bright quantum emitters. Such emitters can be achieved by embedding self-assembled, optically active semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) in centered photonic structures. LÄS MER
4. Time-resolved x-ray diffraction study of longitudinal optical phonons in zincblende semiconductors
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Anharmonic decay of longitudinal optical (LO) phonons in zincblende semiconductors is not at present well characterized due to the polar and many-body nature of the problem. Femtosecond THz radiation offers a novel route to this study, as the interaction of this radiation is directly with the phonon lattice and these THz excited phonons do not have enough energy to excite electrons over the band gap. 5. Single Photon LSCM in the NIR Range
Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysikSammanfattning : In this thesis a near-infrared laser scanning confocal microscope (NIR-LSCM) is built to operate with optimal performance at 1550nm in combination with simultaneous LED light imaging at 970nm. For detection, a camera equipped with a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor and a superconducting nanowire single photon detector (SNSPD) are used for the LED part and the LSCM part, respectively.
