  2. 2. Serology as a diagnostic tool for Parascaris spp. in foals – A pilot study

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Agnes Lind af Hageby; [2023]
    Nyckelord :roundworm; Ascariasis; equine; serodiagnostics; indirect ELISA; AsHb; L3-Lung; Ascaris suum; Anthelmintic resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Parascaris spp. are prevalent equine gastrointestinal nematodes that predominantly infect foals. The infection causes impaired welfare and can have a lethal outcome due to complications such as intestinal obstruction. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A field study on rabies in dogs in Cambodia : potential antibody titers in non-vaccinated dogs

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Jacob Zachrisson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :rabies; antibodies; ELISA; serology; Southeast Asia; non-vaccinated; canine; immunity;

    Sammanfattning : Rabies is a highly fatal viral disease, capable of infecting virtually all mammalian species. Once symptoms occur mortality is generally considered to be 100%. Each year the virus is responsible for the loss of approximately 59,000 human lives around the world. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Influenza A in Swedish harbour seals (Phoca vitulina) : a serological study

    Nyckelord :IAV; influenza A; harbour seals; H10N7; marine mammals; Phoca vitulina; serology; Sweden; virus;

    Sammanfattning : Evidence of infection with influenza A has been documented in several different marine mammals. However, large outbreaks with mass mortalities have only been seen in harbour seals. In 2014, the first outbreak with influenza A virus (IAV) in harbour seals in Europe was reported. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Investigating the autoimmunity profiles of Covid-19 patients

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Proteinvetenskap

    Författare :Alfred Kedhammar; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Covid-19; SARS-CoV-2; Autoimmunity; Autoantibodies; Cytokines; Covid-19; SARS-CoV-2; Autoimmunitet; Autoantikroppar; Cytokiner;

    Sammanfattning : The clinical severity of Covid-19 varies greatly between individuals, and all underlying risk factors are not yet well understood. Previous studies have shown Covid patients to be enriched with autoantibodies against type I interferons, suggesting autoimmunity may be an underlying factor of susceptibility to severe disease.
