  1. 1. Demographic equilibrium modelling of single tree selection stands in Siljansfors : judging the sustainability of single tree selection systems in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Ludwig Olofsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CCF; continuous cover forestry; single tree selection; equilibrium models; forestry;

    Sammanfattning : Lately debates have occurred questioning the rotation system, which is the most used silvicultural system in Sweden. Continuous cover forestry (CCF) has therefore been suggested as an alternative management method, due to its environmental benefits such as increased biodiversity and higher resilience against extreme weather which is important with the current climate change. 2. 2. Consequences of alternative forest management in riparian buffer zones : a GIS analysis

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Elijah Ourth; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Riparian buffer zones; Continuous cover forestry; CCF; Hyggesfritt; Geographical information system; Ditch network maintenance; Ditch; Stream; Natural channel;

    Sammanfattning : With increasing pressure from policymakers and the general public to conduct alternative forest management throughout the European Union (EU), Sweden needs to find ways to best prioritize the implementation of this alternative management. Alternative management is a term used to describe alternative management methods to clear-cut rotation forestry and can include silvicultural methods such as continuous cover forestry, management increasing proportion tree diversity and presence of broadleaves, and extended rotation lengths. 3. 3. Planning Method for a Reversing Single Joint Tractor-Trailer System

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Fordonssystem

    Författare :Ofa Ismail; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Motion planning; Local planing method; Reversing tractor-trailer; RRT; Rapidly-exploring Random Tree;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the design of a local planning method for a reversing single joint tractor-trailer system that can be used in a sampling-based motion planner. The motion planner used is a Rapidly-exploring Random Tree (RRT) developed by Scania. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Assessment of the impact of the Black Coffee Twig Borer, Xylosandrus compactus infestation in Ugandan small-scale coffee gardens, and the potential of its suppression through repellence in conjunction with push-pull technology

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Advaith Chakravarthy Shankarkumar; [2021]
    Nyckelord :coffee; smallholder farmers; livelihoods; BCTB; SplatVerb; repellents; attractants; push-pull; sustainable alternatives; perceptions; stakeholders;

    Sammanfattning : Coffee production in Uganda is an important means of income for smallholder farmers and extensively supports rural livelihoods. It contributes to about 20- 30% of the annual export revenue of the country. Yet, coffee production is challenged by many factors. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Idiom-driven innermost loop vectorization in the presence of cross-iteration data dependencies in the HotSpot C2 compiler

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Programvara och system

    Författare :William Sjöblom; [2020]
    Nyckelord :compiler; vectorization; SIMD; Java; HotSpot; code optimization; reductions; prefix sums; parallel programming; data-level parallelism;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a technique for automatic vectorization of innermost single statement loops with a cross-iteration data dependence by analyzing data-flow to recognize frequently recurring program idioms. Recognition is carried out by matching the circular SSA data-flow found around the loop body’s φ-function against several primitive patterns, forming a tree representation of the relevant data-flow that is then pruned down to a single parameterized node, providing a high-level specification of the data-flow idiom at hand used to guide algorithmic replacement applied to the intermediate representation.
