  1. 1. Effect of temperature on early stage adhesion during TiAlN sliding against Inconel 718 and Stainless steel 316L : High temperature tribology

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Ahsan Ali; [2023]
    Nyckelord :High temperature tribology; Early-stage adhesion; Adhesive wear; Friction; Wear resistant coatings; Physical vapour deposition PVD coatings; TiAlN; Tungsten carbide WC Co ; Difficult to machine super alloys; Inconel 718; Stainless steel 316L; High-performance materials; Abrasion; Oxidation; Chipping; Ploughing; Characterization;

    Sammanfattning : High-performance materials such as stainless steels and nickel based super alloys are widely used in demanding applications where high mechanical and thermal properties are required. The applications of super alloys are mainly found in jet engines, power plants and gas turbines demanding high fatigue strength, corrosion and oxidation resistance as well as wear resistant properties. 2. 2. EVALUATING PERFORMANCE OF GENERATIVE MODELS FOR TIME SERIES SYNTHESIS

    Master-uppsats, Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Författare :Muhammad Junaid Haris; [2023]
    Nyckelord :GAN; Generative Adversarial Network; VQ-VAE; Vector Quantized Variational AutoEncoder; AutoEncoder; VAE; Time Series; Synthesizing; Data Synthesis;

    Sammanfattning : Motivated by successes in the image generation domain, this thesis presents a novel Hybrid VQ-VAE (H-VQ-VAE) approach for generating realistic synthetic time series data with categorical features. The primary motivation behind this work is to address the limitations of existing generative models in accurately capturing the underlying structure and patterns of time series data, especially when dealing with categorical features. 3. 3. Detecting flight patterns using deep learning

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för systemteknik

    Författare :Victor Carlsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :machine learning; AI; pattern detection; CNN; LSTM; transfer learning; ADS-B; flight pattern; trajectory classification;

    Sammanfattning : With more aircraft in the air than ever before, there is a need for automating the surveillance of the airspace. It is widely known that aircraft with different intentions fly in different flight patterns. Support systems for finding different flight patterns are therefore needed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fibre volume fractions’ and printing directions’ effects on tribological and mechanical properties in FDM printed carbon fibre reinforced PEEK : Suitability assessment of FDM printed PEEK-CF to act in a steam engine’s ball joint, by analysis of compressive properties, impact strength, friction and wear

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Författare :William Tönnberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Ranotor; steam engine; PEEK; polyether-ether-ketone; carbon fibre reinforced PEEK; impact strength; compressive strength; compressive modulus; friction; wear; tribology; FFF; FDM; 3D-printing; printing parameters;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose with this study was to investigate FDM/FFF manufactured carbon fibre reinforced PEEK and assess its suitability to act as a sealing- and bearing material in a modern steam engine’s ball joint. The steam engine is totally free from oil due to the risk of water- and steam contamination. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Abstractive Summarization of Podcast Transcriptions

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Artificiell intelligens

    Författare :Hannes Karlbom; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In the rapidly growing medium of podcasts, as episodes are automatically transcribed the need for good natural language summarization models which can handle a variety of obstacles presented by the transcriptions and the format has increased. This thesis investigates the transformer-based sequence-to-sequence models, where an attention mechanism keeps track of which words in the context are most important to the next word prediction in the sequence.
