1. Probing the Structure of Ionised ISM in Lyman-Continuum-Leaking Green Pea Galaxies with MUSE
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomiSammanfattning : Lyman continuum (LyC) photons are known to be responsible for reionising the universe after the end of the Dark Ages, which marked a period called the Epoch of Reionisation (EoR). While these high-energy photons are thought to predominantly originate from young, hot, massive stars within the earliest galaxies, and contributions from high-energy sources like quasars and AGN, the origins of these photons are yet not well known and highly debated. 2. Properties of the Optical Hot Spots in the Circumstellar Ring of SN 1987A
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The proximity of Supernova 1987A provides a great opportunity to study the aftermath of the impact of the ejecta with the dense clumps (observed as ”hot spots”) located in the equatorial circumstellar ring. This thesis examines the properties of the clumps by using Hubble Space Telescope optical imaging taken with the F625W and F675W broad filters between 1994 and 2022. LÄS MER
3. Towards a Cooper pair splitter in InAs nanowires with crystal-phase defined quantum dots
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska HögskolaSammanfattning : Cooper pair splitting (CPS) is a process in which the two spin-entangled electrons of a Cooper pair in a superconductor are split into two spatially separated electrons. If the separated electrons are still entangled, CPS can be studied to increase the knowledge of non-locality in quantum systems. LÄS MER
4. Colliding Galaxies in a (Nut)Shell
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Galaxy interactions and mergers are natural recurring events in the current cosmological paradigm, events that often coincide with starbursts and enhanced star formation activity. To understand why that is, one can use idealised (non-cosmological) merger simulations, which provide freedom to recreate specific tidally distorted galaxies, and analysis of the time evolution and underlying physics of the star formation activity at a high spatial resolution. 5. Spatially resolved gene expression profiling of mouse brain tissue to study the impact of spaceflights
Master-uppsats, KTH/ProteinvetenskapSammanfattning : Since the first human spaceflight in 1961, hundreds of humans have been in space. Microgravity and high radiation are the main spaceflight hazards. The space environment is known to impact several aspects of human health, such as bone density and cognitive performance. LÄS MER
