Taking as a starting point three perspectives on irony (from philosophy, linguistics, and literature) as well as the context in which Voltaire wrote this tale, this thesis examines the use of irony, its objectives and how it permits the transmission of polemical and philosophical ideas. In mid-2013 there was a rise in crimes related to the world of drug trafficking, which in our opinion, favored a change in the way of narrating and the use of the linguistic resource of metaphors related to the field of war. The study aims to examine how the slang used by drag queens in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 is translated into Japanese. Based on the purpose, the following questions were formulated: In what ways do preschool teachers challenge each child individually in their language development in read-aloud situations? and Which factors do the preschool teachers describe as decisive for how the adaptations look in reading aloud situations? To answer the questions, a qualitative method was used in the form of video observations and semi-structured interviews. LÄS MER
