1. Decoding Hormone Interactions: Investigating Health Status Using Hormone Signatures in Blood
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Hormones are integral molecules in the human body, controlling most body systems and maintaining homeostasis in the body. They function as signal molecules for communication between cells, and are often secreted by one tissue with another as target. LÄS MER
2. Probing Strangeness Production in Proton-Proton Collisions with Three-Particle Correlations
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Strangeness production in small systems such as proton-proton collisions is here investigated through the use of three-particle correlations in the momentum-space coordinates η and ϕ. This method is used in order to investigate possible correlation between conservation of both strangeness and baryon number, such that the particles chosen are Λ¯pK+ and the respective charge conjugates, where Λ is a strange baryon, p¯ balances: the Balance Function and the comparative restriction of relative positions for pairs of particles within given triplets. 3. An Arrow Metalanguage for Partially Invertible Computation
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : Programming languages traditionally describe computations going one way: a program might compute a hash value from a string, or an encrypted message from a plaintext. However, sometimes it is also of interest to go the other way around: for encryption, we not only want to encrypt messages but also to decrypt them, and to be sure that the decryption correctly reproduces the original message. 4. The Swampland and Early Universe Cosmology
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysikSammanfattning : Until now the quantum field theory (QFT) that successfully describes the electric, weak and strong interactions (three out of the four fundamental forces) between particles is the Standard Model, but it omits gravity. The prime candidate for a quantum theory of gravity is string theory. LÄS MER
5. Event Geometry and Anisotropic Flow in Proton-Proton Collisions
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : We seek to better understand the relationship between an anisotropic distribution of partons in the initial state of pp-collisions and the amount of elliptic flow. We do this through the implementation of a new model that is based in generating positions for multiparton interactions from the uneven volume created by the overlap of two Gaussians. LÄS MER
