16. Production of 5-ketogluconic acid using recombinant strains of Gluconobacter oxydans
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)Sammanfattning : 5-Keto-D-gluconic acid (5-KGA) is a valuable compound that has a wide range of applications in the chemical and food industries and is commonly used as a precursor for manufacturing tartaric acid (TA). Industrial production of 5-KGA through chemical approaches was practiced in the early 1920’s and was dropped immediately due to several drawbacks because of its complicated process that resulted in lower 5-KGA yield and higher accumulation of impure gluconic acid. 17. Oligosaccharide Analysis - Assessment of the DNS Method and Specification of Glucans Processed with CGTase
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)Sammanfattning : In this study, the reagent 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) and high-performance anion exchange chromatography (HPAEC) were used for carbohydrate characterisation. It was revealed that the DNS reaction is not exclusive to reducing ends as commonly thought, but rather that the reagent reacts with other parts of the carbohydrate molecules as well. LÄS MER
18. Evaluation of Novel Probiotics Acting on Seaweed Biomass
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI)Sammanfattning : Fermentation is a technique which has been employed for the preservation of food since time immemorial. With a growing population comes the challenge of providing accessible and nutritious food and at the same time adapting a sustainable approach to achieve the desired target. LÄS MER
19. The Development Of Bio-Composite Films From Orange Waste : A Methodological And Evaluation Study Of Material Properties
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomiSammanfattning : Bioplastic research has become more diverse and different types of research on bioplastic production have been conducted from fruits and vegetable waste, for example, orange waste. The wastes that come from oranges contain more than just vitamins, it has soluble sugars, starch, hemicellulose, cellulose, and pectin. LÄS MER
20. Study of the vibronic mixing in chlorophylls with multidimensional spectroscopy
L3-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionenSammanfattning : Chlorophylls comprise one of the most important families of molecules for the photosynthetic process. Chlorophyll-like molecules have been classically interpreted under the Gouterman model, being thought to feature two independent transitions, Qy(S1) and Qx(S2). LÄS MER
