  1. 1. Linking for Peace. An affordance perspective of LinkedIn as an instrument for peace professionals to advance constructive conflict resolution and transformative efforts

    Master-uppsats, Institutionen för tillämpad informationsteknologi

    Författare :Jasmine Traore; [2023-11-22]
    Nyckelord :Affordances; Human Computer Interaction HCI ; Peace and Conflict Research;

    Sammanfattning : Has LinkedIn become the platform for a global community of practice for peace professionals? Does it have the potential to be? An inductive approach to Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) following Braun and Clarke’s six-phase methodology was used as an analytic instrument on empirical data from 13 semi-structured interviews with professionals in peace mediation, using the theoretical lens of affordances. The participants in the study were found to use LinkedIn to create and sustain meaningful connections globally and across sectors, learn from empirical knowledge, stories and insights from others and explore economic opportunities. 2. 2. Unleashing the Awareness of Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Among Youth: : Bridging the Knowledge Gap and EmpoweringFuture Sustainable Designers

    Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/JTH, Avdelningen för datateknik och informatik

    Författare :Mariam Basyouny; Aleksandra Männik; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable HCI; Sustainable Interaction Design; Digital Technology; Digital Carbon Footprint; Digital Sustainability; Eco-feedback Technology; Young Designers; Digital Design.;

    Sammanfattning : This research paper aims to explore the knowledge gap among young designers in relation to sustainable human-computer interaction (HCI), focusing on Interaction Design, and investigating the necessary resources for designing sustainable HCI. Lack of knowledge among young designers regarding sustainable practices in digital design contributes to the overconsumption of energy, and increased carbon emissions, highlighting the need to raise awareness and bridge the knowledge gap in Sustainable Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design among youth. 3. 3. Low-impact user interfaces: How can we create a climate-smart approach toward front-end mobile application design? : Evaluation and proposed improvement of existing guidelines – Focused on Online Food Delivery sector.

    Kandidat-uppsats, Jönköping University/JTH, Avdelningen för datateknik och informatik

    Författare :Isabella Sundqvist; Kinga Joanna Zurawska; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Low-impact App Design; UX Design; UI Design; Sustainable App Design; Food Delivery Prototype; Low-impact Application Design Guidelines; Thesis in informatics;

    Sammanfattning : The use of the Internet and digital services has increased significantly during recent years, and as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) field keeps on expanding, it is influencing aspects of our daily lives, though not always for the better. Researchers and practitioners, including a small number of designers, are addressing the growing concerns about the Internet’s environmental impact, such as electronic waste, increased energy use, resource depletion, and carbon footprint, which have emerged in recent years, and are calling for a more environment-friendly approach to web and app design. 4. 4. Generate power, generate art : Experiments with human-powered art, electronic paper and creative coding

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Roni Kaufman; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Human-computer interaction; Interaction design; Sustainable interaction; Interactive Arts; Media Arts; Människa–datorinteraktion; Hållbar interaktion; Interaktiv konst; Mediekonst;

    Sammanfattning : This is a multidisciplinary project, at the intersection between interaction design, software development and media art. Human-Powered Interactions (HPI) is a field of Human-Computer Interactions (HCI) interested in self-sustainable systems in which power generation and the user interaction are simultaneous, unlike, for example, dynamo torches which have rechargeable batteries.
