  1. 1. Paleomagnetic and Thermomagnetic Studies on Rock Samples from COSC - 1 Drilling Project

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Författare :Wanyi Li; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Scandinavian Caledonides; remanent magnetization; AF demagnetization; temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility; Skandinaviska Kaledoniderna; remanent magnetism; växelfältsavmagnetisering; temperaturberoende av magnetisk susceptibilitet;

    Sammanfattning : The COSC-1 borehole located in the Lower Seve nappe of the Central Scandinavian Caledonides is intended to study the tectonic evolution of the Paleozoic orogen. The drilling project reached a depth of 2495.8m and obtained samples from different lithologal units of mica schist, amphibolite, gneiss, and mylonitic gneisses. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Real-Time Rotor Temperature Estimation Method for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines : A method using a Lumped Parameter Thermal Network in combination with an estimation algorithm: implementation and comparison of a Dual Kalman Filter and a Dual Observer

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Elvira Niemelä; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine; Permanent Magnet Temperature Estimation; Lumped Parameter Thermal Network; Dual Kalman Filter; Dual Observer; Permanentmagnetiserad Synkronmaskin; Temperaturestimering för Permanentmagneter; Lumped Parameter Thermal Network; Dual Kalman Filter; Dual Observer;

    Sammanfattning : Accurate knowledge of the temperature of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine is of high importance, not only to ensure safe operation and improve control of the operating point, but also to avoid irreversible demagnetization of rare-earth permanent magnets. However, direct measurement using thermal sensors is not suitable for high volume and low-cost applications, due to costly sensor installation and maintenance, and therefore, the magnet temperature needs instead to be estimated. 3. 3. Thermal Analysis of a Sea Wave Generator

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Elkraftteknik

    Författare :Ezequiel Quijada; [2017]
    Nyckelord :sea wave power generator; magnet overheating; demagnetization; heat transfer; conjugate heat transfer; thermal resistance; Comsol Multiphysics; cooling technique;

    Sammanfattning : Wave power has been increasing the interest of many researchers looking for alternative sustainable energy sources since the reserves have proved to be capable of satisfying a considerable percentage of the world´s energy demands. This option has not been adopted as a sustainable source since there are some challenges in the process of designing a low cost device that converts the kinetic energy of the waves into electric energy and that could still be efficient enough to be competitive against other options. 4. 4. Constraining the duration of eruptions of the Rangitoto volcano, New Zealand, using paleomagnetism

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Linda Aulin; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Rangitoto; paleomagnetism; paleointensity experiments; Auckland volcanic field; thermal demagnetization; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The volcano Rangitoto belongs to the Auckland volcanic field and is situated north east of Auckland city, New Zealand. The volcanos of the Auckland volcanic field have previously thought to be of monogenetic origin, but recent studies indicate that Rangitoto has a long history of eruptions, which would suggest that the volcanic system may have entered a new phase. 5. 5. Analysis of fault conditions in permanentmagnet in-wheel motors

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Elektrisk energiomvandling

    Författare :Yonghui Liao; [2011]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The use of light in-wheel motors is an attractive alternative for smaller passenger vehicles in urban areas. An in-wheel motor design has already been developed in a previous master thesis project. In this project, the proposed design is further analysed during electrical faults using a FEM software package (JMAG). LÄS MER
